This isn't easy. I can write a script, but answering questions about it is another thing all together. I don't think I'm a good enough writer to convey my thoughts in this way... It's doing my head in already.

You got this. Don't make it too big. Simple answers about a project you know inside and out.

Warren, you'll do fine, I'm sure, cause you know your script inside out.

I agree it is a different kind of writing when doing these types of applications.
Good luck!

Thanks, Libby. I'm slowly pushing through, but when I read back my answers I can't help but cringe.

Thank, mate. Might bounce a few things off you a bit later in the process.

Happy to help.

Just remember... I'm 0 for 2 in attempts to get in so far.

Finished some rewrites on my script (thanks Dave!), and have done just over half of the application. Will try knock over the rest tomorrow and then attempt to make my application video.

What's with all these stupid links to songs? Why not just write what you want? I never click them, I just read the title. Does anybody actually click them and listen or do you just read the title as I do?

I'm genuinely interested. I imagine it takes a little bit longer to post a stupid link like that than it does to type four words... in this case, 'You can do it'.

You're not original... you're merely copying what others have done because you think it's cool. It's a little bit pathetic, really, from a grown man. I'm assuming you're a grown man?

It's true, I'm a grown man, which is why I'm not engaging in whatever this is.

Have a good one.

I’m oh for too. But it’s worth the try.  Of course not being from Australia saves me rejection this time

Application submitted. Just spent half of Sunday feeling like a complete tool talking into a camera, but it's done.

I found the questions incredibly difficult, yes I know the story inside out but at the end of the day I just write stories that either work or they don't. I don't think I've ever really dissected themes or goals or anything to this extent. I just know what I want to say and I say it.

Any who... It's done. I've seen some of the people who I'll be going up against and I really don't stand a snowflake's chance in hell but it was a pretty good experience looking at my script in a completely new way.

Thanks, Paul for constantly pushing me to do this.

Congrats, man, and good luck.

Out of interest, do you think that deep dive on themes will inform how you write going forward? I've always found those thematic discussions some of the most interesting, and often think backwards when writing (theme first, story second), which is the wrong way to do it, but is the way my mind works instinctively.

Yeah I think it probably will. I've always just put a story on the page and then thought about the themes and what it all means afterwards. There are a lot of common themes in my writing but I've never written with them at the forefront of the story I was telling. It's probably a really bad way to write, but that's what I've done in the past.
