This was quite exciting throughout. I love the title page as it encouraged me to read this.

My only suggestion would be to remove the reference that he is leaning up against his mother’s headstone on page 9. I would Just have him lean up against the headstone. I would have Eli tell us it’s his mother’s headstone in his dialog line that immediately follows (Happy birthday, Mom.). I think that would be more gripping and heart breaking. After all, that is how it would be explained to us on the screen.

Just a thought.  Anyway, I think you have a winner here.
