Very interesting. The Rush song was on their album 'Moving Pictures' and from Wikipedia this:
YYZ is the IATA airport identification code of Toronto Pearson International Airport, near Rush's hometown. The band was introduced to the rhythm as Alex Lifeson flew them into the airport. A VHF omnidirectional range system at the airport broadcasts the YYZ identifier code in Morse code. Peart said in interviews later that the rhythm stuck with them.[1] Peart and Geddy Lee have both said "It's always a happy day when YYZ appears on our luggage tags."[2]
The piece's introduction, played in a time signature of 5 4, repeatedly renders "Y-Y-Z" in Morse Code using various musical arrangements.[3][4]
The "Why, why Zed" thing was not written by me. My response to Khamanna about the RUSH song was simply my take at what it may have been in reference to, as back in the day, when they performed that song live, that's how they pronounced it.
My plans for this OWC are...oh wait...I can't tell you yet.

SHORRY!!!!
The "Why, Why, Zed" was me. It was a reference to instrumental rock piece, YYZ, by the Canadian band Rush which highlights Neil Peart the drummer for the band. Drummer. Drum. "A drum, a drum! Macbeth doth come," which usually signals that an OWC is coming. Like Macbeth.
The KID ... OMG ... gonna be horror ..must have at least two sexy ladies and at least one orgasm. No orphans...no not for this one. Blood and guts... will get you extra points. hahaha
Well, traditionally, the October OWC is Halloween related and most of the time sort of horror'ish although we've had family friendly horror and such. But, who knows, this is Jeff's show this time. It's possible we could get a lesbian rom-com, in which case you pretty much can't say you're out because of horror.
Jeff, it must've been tough to tear yourself away from your numerous women to oversee this OWC.
Yeah, no money coming in for a couple of weeks for some of the dingier Arizona brothels. Then again they probably throwing parties as we speak
Perps will actually be able to read my pdf s now as I have a new laptop! And I was able to transfer my faithful Sophocles software ( also grateful to Baltis for it years back) over so looking good. Ironically I hadn't done any writing recently but was brainstorming an old Beatles script idea - happens every OWC lol!

Good to see my radar still works and I correctly picked up on the YYZ...although I didn't get the association with the "a drum, a drum" part.

Stevie, my friend, I'm seriously hoping peeps will be able to read your script, but it's not the software that worries me - it's your writing! HA!
Looking forward to this and hoping everyone enjoys the challenge theme and parameters.

Thanks for taking us on the journey through that crazy train of thought. More twists and turns than a carnival fun ride, I felt like projectile vomiting halfway through. Not for the faint of heart.
Last three OWC's were major duds from me. They included: A girl with a toaster on her arm facing off against a killer Nazi, passing myself off as a Brit with a script about a horse who dies from the stink of a fart, and a killer pot plant.

Projectile vomiting? Why? The RUSH vid? I sure hope not.

Needless to say, looking to redeem myself!
Yes...redemption can be yours, my friend. I have just the challenge for all to redeem themselves.
One suggestion: don't make too many parameters. Like that last one Cornetto ran. I remember coming up with ideas and then realizing I only checked 7 out of 8 boxes, so I didn't enter.

I actually remember that you did, mainly because you were, like, the only one who liked it! But, out of the three scripts I mentioned, Killer Weed was my fav, too.
Going to Vegas Sunday through Wednesday so maybe I can write "Jeff Goes to Vegas" on the way there and back. Now that recreational marijuana is legal there, maybe I'll find myself with all sorts of inspiration. Either that or I'll be too laid back to care if I don't get it written!

Are we getting the logline/pro writer feedback this time?? Not fussed if we do or don't, just to know how anal I've got to be with the log in case I annoy Carson again.

You'll be getting my Pro-Writer feedback, so that's a pretty sweet deal, right?

If I'm allowed to, I'll try to arrange that once a year.
Other members running the OWC are encouraged to do things their way...obviously Jeff is a no frills kind of guy.
I will do my best to answer questions, but will be busy tonight, and really, based on how I'm laying this out, things should be pretty straight forward (but I know peeps will ask questions...and more questions...and more questions...and...
