Hello! My name is Angie, and I am completely psyched to be here! Fairly new to screenwriting, I'm mostly a fiction writer, but I'm here to learn!

Welcome Angie, we're happy to have new writers who really want to learn and not just annoy us all.

But that's beyond the point, welcome and I hope your time here is productive. Check out the Screenwriting Class down by Work in Progress to find some help with screenplays as we've had many discussion some of which have some heated conversations about nothing and others start out really helpful and die into nothing so hopefully you find what you need.

lol thanks. I'm actually taking a screenwriting class at my highschool, and I'm just about to finish my first complete, feature length script! I plan on finishing it in the next few days, so I will be sure to post it here. I can use all the critique I can get!

We'll carve that on your tombstone  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA--snort!

Just be sure to read and critique the works of others.  That's how you decide how much critique you end up getting.

Hi Angie.  I think it is so cool that your high school has a screenwriting course.

Mine didn't, but that was *ahem* a few years ago.

Good luck with your stuff.  I saw your poster, btw, and while it looks great, it may be a tad busy, you know?  Too much of a good thing.

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

Yeah I was thinking that. It was mostly for a school assignment, and I was planning on redoing it for my own use. Thanks for the input!

Ha, ha, very funny....

At least I was taking classes instead of teaching them.

A screenwriting course in a high-school?  I guess it's an elective.  How do you become a teacher of one of those courses?  Do you need a university degree in the "college of education" or could someone who already knows how to write a script spend a semester getting a group of kids to write good scripts, like "life experience" or something like that?  I know of a local Drama Professor who doesn't have a degree in anything, but he was in a film a long time ago, so his life experience and his "friends in the biz" have let him cruise through life enough to teach drama in high school and university.  Lord knows I could have kids writing good scripts in a semester if some school gave me a chance.  You'd probably have to have a university degree in a "College of Education" in order to teach that class, eh?  Well that sucks.

Well she's an english teacher who writes screenplays in her spare time. She got it approved because she usually teaches "film as literature" type classes.

Film is the artistic expression of a screenwriter, so damn right it's literature! ... well, unless a director botches it.
