Since there's a thread for people to name their top 10 favorite films of all time, why not one for naming the worst? Here's the twist. So as not to just have people complaining the whole thread, you have to find at least one good thing about each movie.

Here's mine:

1. Grey Gardens - The most boring movie of all time. I actually found this physically painful to watch. Good thing: has actually convinced many poor souls that it's actually a good movie.

2. Caligula - Trashy pornography using a false commentary on Roman emperors as justification for it's existence. Good thing: well acted.

3. The Cat In The Hat - A pretty decent children's book destroyed by terrible acting, scripting, adult jokes, and shameless product placement. Good thing: I actually chuckled at the gag about the Cat having a case against the kids *shudders*.

4. Saw II - Loathsome characters, bad scripting, and uninspired gore scenes. Good thing: Tobin Bell and one good twist.

5. Psycho (remake) - Gus Van Sant managed to remake the original film shot for shot and still blow it completely. Good thing: blood in color.

6. Cannibal Holocaust - The violence equivilant to Caligula. Good thing: well acted and I found myself constantly agreeing and identifying with the main character.

7. American Psycho 2 - I don't know what I was thinking when I saw this one. Just plain stupid. Good thing: recognized that the first film was a satire and made an attempt to follow in its footsteps.

8. Jason X - It's a sequel to Friday the 13th therefore it represents pretty much everything wrong with modern day horror movies. Good thing: David Cronenberg cameo.

9. House Of The Dead - Boll had to be in here somewhere. Good thing: zombies.

10. Alien vs. Predator - The works. Bad acting, writing, and incoherent action scenes. Good thing: this movie actually features the best Alien FX I've seen yet and the concept had a lot of potential.

1. TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE(2003)-Horrible script, horrible acting, the gore wasn't even that good.  Good: The concept is still neat

2. MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2-Boring, long, horribly acted, corny action scenes.  Good: Good sound FX

3. EMMA(1998?)-I got stuck watching this slow and dull chick flick in film class last year.  Good: I can now make fun of Ewan McGregor

4. ROLLERBALL(2002)-Horribly edited, stupid plot, just stupid all around.  Good: There was a scene in San Francisco i think.

5. AIR BUD-I'm a huge fan of basketball and I have a golden myself.  I think this film really turned me off when the kid screamed at the dog.  I remember I was so hurt after that.  Good: It did charm at times.

6. BABY GENIUSES-Just awful.  Poorly edited and stupid.  Good: The kids weren't old enough to remember that they took part in this piece of crap.

I dunno, I know there's a bunch of others, but I can't think right now.

Be excellent to each other

1. THE HOLLOW Not the Burton filck, rhe teen slasher from ABC. It was just...bad. No justifying. They didn't take the gore to the right levels, and even with beheadings.
GOOD: It was kid of funny.

1) Zathura: This movie was horrible! I hated it more than anything ever created! Good: The End

2) Legends of Earthsea: For anyone who ever read these books, this was a major let down. In fact, even if you had never heard of Earthsea, this was still a major let down...the effects where horrible! And then they tried to compare it to Lord of the Rings...idiots! Good: Uhhh, I don't think there was any good...

3) BABY GENIUSES - I also thought this movie was stupid. I hated it!

4) BABY GENIUSES 2 - This was more horrible than the first one....! Good: Once again...the end.

5) King Kong (1970's version) - This movie STUNK!!! The acting was horrible! Everything about this was horrible...Good: It wasn't made in my time...

Thats all I can think of right now....

I'll go backwards, from "best" to worst:

10.) Alien Vs. Predator
There are certainly worse films then "AVP," but it is the dissapointment factor that makes this one really stand out as a contender for my Top 10 worst films.  Though, in my initial review, perhaps I was a bit too harsh on Anderson.  While some of the blame is certainly still for him to take, it is also easy to see now that 20th Century Fox had zero care for their fanbase for these two franchises (hell, if they did, would they have hired Anderson in the first place?).  With a PG-13 rating as well as minimal ammounts of the two monstrous titans actually fighting, this one is certainly a very, very large dissapointment on all fronts.  GOOD: When the two title monsters decide to finally go at it (all fifteen minutes of it), things seem to be okay (though the use of quick cuts and close-ups defiantly hurts what could have been epic battles).

9.) Resident Evil: Apocalypse
I was no fan of the first "Resident Evil" movie, but at least it had some cool little sequences.  This one, though, just sucks.  It's interesting to note that this was the feature debut of director Alexander Witt, a man who had made quite a name for himself as a second unit director.  I suppose it's no coincidence then that the entire whole of "Apocalypse" just looks like second unit footage edited into a somewhat coherent film.  Paul W.S. Anderson can, at times, be a solid director.  But he has always been a horrendous writer, and this one only serves to prove that.  GOOD: The scene within the church involving a priest feeding his zombified sister could have made a solid film all on it's own... instead, the scene lasts but five minutes.

8.) Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
I actually went out and bought this one last month because I had heard how bad it was and I hadn't seen it since I was about 11.  Good... Lord.  This movie doesn't even do well as a "stupid" action flick (like "Doom" or "Van Helsing").  It's just so... boring.  Quite a feat when a film is dealing with super fighters, ninjas, mutants, and robots.  Add to that horrible effects as well as characters that just sort of come and go just so the filmmakers could throw in as many references to the game as possible, and you get what ammounts to being the "Batman & Robin" of video-game-to-film adaptations.  GOOD: The mud wrestling fight... when you're an 11 year-old boy, that type of stuff can easily make you a fan of a shitty movie.

7.) House of the Dead
Ah, Uwe Boll's first foray into the realm of raping potentially good video-game franchises.  Filled with lame acting as well as no real house (except for maybe a fifteen minute segment of the movie), "HotD" is just like watching one of your friends playing the video-game in an arcade... and it's just as boring too.  Not to mention the fact that actual footage from the game was spliced into the film... because, you know, that's necessary.  GOOD: No God awful love scene that would become a staple of Boll's next two video game films, "Alone in the Dark" and "Bloodrayne."

6.) Street Fighter
I believe this was Van Damme's last big budget movie before being thrown to the side and starring in various low budget and straight-to-video crapfests.  Well, that is probably no coincidence, as this piece of shit is not only horrendously acted, but just all together bizzarre.  Who the hell decided to cast the late and cancer-ridden Raul Julia as the what was a very buff and hulking M. Bison in the video-game series?  I suppose that's like a metaphor for this whole flick.  Interestingly, this was the directional debut for noted action screenwriter Steven E. de Souza.  Apparently, he did not learn much from working with John McTieran or Walter Hill.  GOOD: Some of the completely random fight scenes are put together nicely and well choreographed.

5.) Batman & Robin
Having watched all the documentaries as well as listening to the audio commentary on the recently released special edition DVD, I now feel a bit of sympathy for director Joel Schumacher.  After all, it was really a greedy studio that was behind the inclusion of various useless characters as well as the needless inclusion of wacky sets and vehicles.  Hell, Schumacher even apologizes for it on the commentary... so the guy can't be all that bad.  GOOD: Batman's conversation with an injured Freeze is actually fairly well written and Clooney, for but a minute and a half, actually plays the Dark Knight well... too bad the moment is completely destroyed when Freeze decides to pop off one of his "classic" one-liners.

4.) Zombi 3
Apparently, half way through production, original director Lucio Fulci left this aborted zombie flick.  Even still, I can't imagine, even with Fulci's direction, this film being any good.  From terribly realized zombie birds to a flying, decapitated zombie head in a freezer this movie is, well, just a big pile of shit.  Not to mention, it has no real tie to "Zombi 2" (which had an excellent ending worth building off of, but, no...).  GOOD: Like any Fulci film, the gore is fairly good and bloody.

3.) Future War
Brilliant.  Fucking brilliant.  Not only is this a shameless rip off of "The Terminator" and a cash-in on the recent success of "Jurassic Park," but this pile also contains the WORST fight scenes ever put to film.  There is zero continuity and the whole thing looks like it was filmed by an overactive 12 year-old with a camcorder.  On top of that, despite the fact that this was made in 1994, it looks like it was released in 1982 due to the horrid clothing styles and hair fashions.  GOOD: This was actually turned into one of the best "Mystery Science Theater's" I've ever seen.

2.) Jaws IV: The Revenge
Wow, wow, wow.  "Jaws" is one of the best movies ever made... so I guess it's sort of funny that, as a franchise, it just never really worked (though the second one is decent).  The plot of this one alone is great: shark kills youngest son in Amity, mom flies to Bahamas... shark FOLLOWS mom with a vendetta to end.  Fantastic!  The only thing this movie was missing was a scene of the shark in disguise as a man on the same flight of the mother.  GOOD: The part where the shark attacks the banana boat is a fine and bloody shark attack scene... that lasts all of thirty seconds.

1.) Alone in the Dark
Not only Uwe Boll's worst movie, but also the worst of the recent video-game-to-film adaptations.  Not to mention, to me, probably the worst film ever made, period.  From Tara Reid's "acting" to the horrid action sequences to the completely non-sensical plot (and I've seen it at least four times now... still makes zero sense), "Alone" is just another nail in the coffin in the case against transforming video games into movies.  GOOD: That part where the sillohuette of the monster's teeth is seen through the glass window of a door was sort of cool... sort of.

There was a Zombi 3? I only have Zombie, which is actually a very creepy movie. I heard of Zombi 2, but it seemed like the same plot as the first. I don't know. I want to see the city overrun by zombies.

But here is my list:

1. Return of the Living Dead Part 1: Though I am in love with any zombie movies, this one left me to disliking it. I tjust didn't have the right mood for the story. The only good thing about it was that the zombies were funny in it.

2. Earth Vs. The Spider: I thought this movie was going to be good. I thought wrong. Some guy injects himself with "tarantula mojo" and surprisingly turns into spiderman. Literally. This movie was stupid and the acting wasn't that good in it. Yikes.

3. Mimic 2: The sequel basically screwed up the trilogy. They changed the entire concept of the cockraoch figure and the plot is dumb. I mean, a half cockroach half praying mantis thing falls in love with a lady. That only works with blonde haired ladies and giant apes.

4. Mimic 3: Yet again, this one also had different looks on the cockroach monster. Though it kind of followed the first one, it still wasn't good. but better than the second.

5. Madagascar: I thought this movie was going to be good. It brought my hopes up until I saw it. Only a few parts were funny, but the rest just dragged along and had me looking at my watch every five minutes.

6. Crocodile 2: Never should have been made. The first one was great, but the second one was more of survival between human violence than running away from a giant crocodile. The good part: The plane crash and some good gore. I guess.

I think that is it for me, but I know there are more out there. I just know that I am glad I didn't buy Day of the Dead Contagium, and that has zombies in it and even I won't buy it.

I think re-makes set themselves up for worst ever status because you've got an easy side-by-side comparison. These lame attempts to cash in on some of the best films ever produced are just plain embarassing.

VANISHING POINT - The original was not a very good movie which makes this piece of garbage look even worse.

THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE- Words escape me.

PSYCHO- The audacity!

And there's a re-make of THE WARRIORS in the works, set in present day. Wow, I can't wait (yawn).

i'm going to list recent movies....

HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY - i loathed this movie. the characters were SO ANNOYING... this wanna-be satire of a film made me roll my eyes so much i think i need glasses now. i considered walking out but i was with friends... good? the special effects

ALIEN VS PREDATOR - so disappointing. the acting was pathetic. the script sucked. the action scenes were borning. good? the production and CGI.

JARHEAD - i was bored... i mean its one thing to get sent off to war... want to go fight and then spend the your whole time there training, getting broken up with, and jerking off in the men's room... but to pay 10$ to go see that in a movie?? i want my damn money and 2 hrs of my life back!! Good? the acting. well directed.

SAW 2 - ive already posted my thoughts on this movie... but to make a long story short.... i hated the characters... and that ruined it for me - good? the twists.

THE AVIATOR - too fucking long. and i hate bio-pics. maybe this has to do with my disdain for Leo DicCaprio... but i just couldnt get into this one... i was bored a half hour into this thing...the good? acting was pretty good i guess.

TROLL 2
Although I brought this for a cheap laugh. You have to see it to beleive it.
An example: The boy of the family has to prevent his family from eating a table full of green food. His dead grandather reappears and pauses time. The boy urinates on the table. The father takes the kid up to his room, removing his belt as if to give him a whipping. No! The father says: " Im going to tie my belt one strap further so I don't feel stomach pains". Honest. Good? Its hilarious!

GHOST GALLEON (BLIND DEAD 3)
Bunch of models take seeker on a "death ship" in the middle of the ocean.
This is just beyond words. Lorena the model : " Im going to wash my hair so I can be just like you". One of a bunch of diabolical lines that I dont want to remember but do.Good? Nice idea for it's time.

HOWLING 7 - NEW MOON RISING
Supposed horror film with werewolves. More like a country and western sing a long. Honest! Good? The priest's conversations with the detective are amusing.

AMERICAN NINJA 3
Maybe im being a little harsh here as this has given me countless laughs whenever I have the unfortuante pleasure of seeing this. It is really bad though regardless. Good? The hilarity of this ninja guy turning green at the end of the film.

THE WRECKING CREW
Made in a matter of days starring Ice T and a bunch of people. It's as simple as that! Good? I was given this and didnt pay for it.

Im sure theres a few more, but thats my list for now.

I think that Zombi 3 is "Ghost Galleon" aka "Blind Dead 3". It is set on a ghost ship that is travelling in an alternate universe. The zombies are the dead templar knights that just so happen to be below. It's complete and utter cack.

7. Showgirls - of course terrible script and even worse acting.
8. Scooby Doo 2 - But I was high while watching
9. Catwoman
10. Killer Klowns From Outerspace - Although, it is so bad, that it's kinda good.
