I finally got a job! Well, sort of self-employed. I got a web design job for a taxidermy company (gettin' paid $200 for the design and $35 a month to keep it updated.

But now, I'm building myself a website and I'm starting a small web design company. My dad said that if I built his construction company a site for free, that he'd pay to host my site.

So if anyone needs a website designed...well, you know who to PM! ha ha.

Wish me luck...its a lot of luck, trying to come up with new designs.

Now I just need to think of a name...

-Chris

PS: Of course, I’m not as good as some of the professional’s, but I’m getting better. And I’m teaching myself flash right now.

"Come to Smith's Taxidermy Service and tell 'em to stuff it!"

Well, it was either that, or "Nice beaver!"

"Come to Smith's Taxidermy Service and get stuffed!"

Or..

"Get stuffed at Smith's Taxidermy Service!"

Do you have a dead animal, a previous pet, a friend you wish would get stuffed? Well now you can at Smith's Taxidermy Service. A proud company who can stuff all your best friends.

I could go on here, the jokes are endless...

Smith's Taxidermy and Dog Crucifixtions at your service.. Did that one for you Phil..

Kevan,

Is it true that in the UK to "get stuffed" means the same as "get fucked"?

Chris,

Congrats on the web design job.

Ah, yes the $64,000 question.

Don doesn't live in the UK.

He lives "Right there, in front of his computer".

But it's not in England.

When you have money, you wish you didn't have a job so be happy for now.

Anyway Rapture aren't you the guy who made my web page, the simple look that I wanted over what I had? I forget sometimes.

Just think, they need you more than you need them. Take your time with it and good luck.

Thanks, Wes! and yep, I made the design for "Better Days." After that I took an interest in designing better pages.

And ha ha! They complain about my design, I'll be like "I care? Pfff....I got my money." ha ha. Not really! I'm a nice fellow.

I should trademark that laugh so when you guys use it to mock me I can collect royalties ha-ha

Sadly American Dad stole my laugh for a character and I seen another show that lifted a similar laugh... So if you want to see how Simply Noir's dialogue would be if spoken watch American Dad (The episode where he's competing for Church Deacon) I think that was the episode.

Well, I don't know if I'm going to be web designing or not.

I'm going to be directing and animating (along with other animators) for an upcoming 3D fantasy film (not the one I posted in the WIP board. That kinda fell through. This one is with a production company) starting this fall and I'll be 3D animating (again, with other animators) and directing a 3D TV how for a kids publishing and distribution company. The latter one is still in the talks but the film I know I'm going to be doing.

Wish me luck!!! (This also means writing will be on the back burner for the next few years...

Just thought I'd update everyone on the status of the fantasy film...

I hired I music composer in New York to compose/conduct the score for the film. I've hired a character designer and a location/prop designer. I'm working on getting a few 3D modelers/bone riggers...

Thing going pretty smooth for now, but I won't keep my hopes up for a smooth ride all the way through. ha ha.

Good luck, if you fail at least you can say you tried. Half the battle is getting off your ass and doing something with your life.

You're giving it a go and you're 14 (15?) which means you have many years to get better, I started to get interested in making movies recently, my time to do something is coming to a close because as I get older I have to seriously find a stable job just in case.

So be happy that you're still at the age where you can make mistakes and try new things that otherwise you wouldn't be able to.

Just as a small update on how my fantasy film is going...

UPDATES:

It's going to be live action not 3D.

I just hired an AWESOME visual effects company in India (I believe).

I started the screenplay.

The visual effects company has worked on quite a few cinema release films and is contacting everyone they can to help fund this film.

The author of the book this film is based on will be flying in from New York to my home to spend a week with us while we cast the film in January.

Filming is set to begin next May.

3D pre-viz has begun and I'll continue planning out each shot with my story board artist and two 3D pre-viz artist.

We're setting up the sound stage with a green screen right now.

I've basically got a composer in New York who'll be scoring the film. Just a few things to sign.

And...that's about it.

This seems to be really working out, so as I said before, I'll be really busy for the next two years...see everyone then!

Thanks to everyone who have helped me along as a screenwriter. You guys a SimplyAmazing! This is one of the greatest groups of people I've ever seen! YOU ROCK!

Here is the official teaser poster for the film:

At the bottom in the credits area, it just says NAME HERE for all the actors. That's because this isn't supposed to be released yet. We haven't cast the lead roles yet.

Time to start a WIP thread on this one, Rapture.  This thread has run its course.

And you should give a "Story By" credit, lest you offend your collaborator.

I've found it to be a trend that Rapture beefs up his marketing for his scripts more than Curse did for #747.

Just an observation.

This isn't a script, this is a real movie. I've got funding from an India based studio that will be helping us through the production. We're talking with another distributor about a DVD release.

But thats OK, I don't need anyones belief or approval, as this film is already in the works. I'm not some immature punk hyping up a script, I'm simply excited that one of my first jobs is directing an independent *FUNDED(HECK YES* fantasy film.

And yes, I have credited the writer of the novel in everything but the poster. He'll have a slot in the credits of the film and a % of whatever profit we make.

I'm not going to get mad over something like this, because this is just how my life on these boards is going to work. Anything I do or say will be takin out of context and turned into something to be used against me. I don't see how this thread has run its course, seeing as how its about my first job, and basically this film is my first job and the job is one that I'm able to update on ever so often.

But fine, lock this thread and forget that I ever got this job and that I'm making this film. Forget about me if you want to. Maybe if I'm forgotten less things like this would happen.

No -- your first job was, like, web designing or something.  Your not doing that anymore, hence, the thread is done.

Now you are working on a film -- I was suggesting you start a WIP thread for people who might be interested in that.

This thread is an inadequate home for updates, and I thought your little project deserved its own thread.

I thought I was being helpful, but do what you want, man.  Your persecution complex is kind of weird.
