Since I'm currently in production of the first film - I really do want to see a follow up. The story is in no way "complete". The first film ends rather abruptly and this is sort of follow up and kind of ties some loose ends.

This is not a direct continuation. The first one took place in their junior going on senior year of high school. This picks up a few years later when they are all in their early twenties.

Jerry is going to college out of state
Audrey is studying abroad and involved with a guy
Leon has stayed behind and now works at his families bookstore
Lillith is a published writer whose returning to visit old friends.

The plot focuses around Leon attempting to bring back friends for a Thanksgiving dinner.

How this will end and what will happen, I'm not sure. Mainly, though it focuses on Leon and Lillith. It's not a romantic involvement, just both can relate to eachother. Actually she's helping him and they're both sort of attempting to figure out where life is taking them.

In the script we are introduced to Leon's girlfriend whom he plans on proposing too.

Now my question to those who have read the script, what do you like to see happen?

I've started a draft and I'm going for a more mature comedy then the prior. They're adults in this one. They've changed alot and I want this script to reflect that. It's a dramedy and not a dark comedy like the first one.

I might even venture to have this a lighter R equivilent rather then a hard R like the first one might be. As I began writing I began seeing a great dynamic between Lillith and Leon. They're could bounce off eachother and who knows what could develope.

Jerry is going to be a tad more timid and generally a likeable character.
Audrey is going to a tad more loss. She's more or less dating an older version of Jerry from GTWDLI.

I liked the first one. But it was very episodic and yes, it's choppy. But I think it works. It's comedy is it's own.

Thanksgiving is a different film. It may be a sequel but most people don't want a rehash, they want a original film. For it to have it's own merits. Especially if it's planned to be made four years after the original.  It'd be insulting to have the characters be the same.

I like exploring new ideas and new comedic techniques.
