So I'm gonna take a train with a couple friends down to California for a little while and bum around and surf.  My schedule's totally open, so first off, I was wondering, does anyone live in California, near California, or maybe anywhere near an Amtrak stop between Spokane and San Jose?  We should meet for a drink except I can't drink because I'm not 21, but still.

Also, and just as importantly, I've got an 80 gig iPod to fill for the train ride (two and a half days) and I was wondering if anyone had some music suggestions...the more obscure the better.

Oh and for you old timers one of the people that'll be traveling with me is Shaman, hee hee.

I used to live in San Jose, before I moved to Australia.  I still have some friends there but they would be a bit older than you and I'm sure they would bore you to tears.  Unless of course if you wanted to meet the Wiccan's - but they are a very strange brew.

Far as the iPod goes I would suggest soundtracks. The more the merrier.  Right now  I am listening to Krull which would make fantastic travelling music.

Other great travelling music

Celtic Requiem by  Various Artists - Hauntingly beautiful Celtic music great for grand scenery.
Abonecronedrone by Sheila Shandra - if you are in a meditative mood.
Deep Forest by Deep Forest - Joyful and strange dance music
Hits or Court and Spark by Joni Mitchell - Relive the good old California days.

That's about it from me, I think.

By the way, where are you going to go surf?  Santa Cruz?

Thanks Cindy!

Wiccans like Wiccans Wiccans?  I'd love to haha.  Tell me more about the Wiccans!

I don't really know where I'm going to surf...first off I'll have to learn how to surf, is the thing.  I'll start that as soon as it gets warm here.
