Hi everyone - I've posted to the board a few times in the past 24 but wanted to officially introduce myself.

I'm a 45 year old frustrated ( aren't we all?) part time writer. I wrote for fun in the late 70's/early 80's - drifted away from it then got serious about writing in the late 90's and banged out a number of screenplays and got a few options into the new century, but got bogged down by life and work and kinda drifted away from it again.

Now I'm kicking around ideas, some fragments, some partially written scripts, trying to break my writer's block.

I'm hoping to meet new people, maybe a collaborator or two. Or just kill time. Whichever one works out first

These are scripts I've written and slowly will be posting here ( some of them at least)

Feral ( submitted for posting, available soon)
Horror/thriller - written in the 70's originally in my high scool days, revamped in 1998 when a friend who had embarked on an indie film producing/directing career needed a screenplay. Submitted to several outlets, finally optioned by a one-time major west coast producer who led us through 2 years of re-write hell. Currently free of any options, on occasion is resubmitted.

Escape Velocity ( science fiction/action) - another 70's script I've revised again and again and am not happy with. My attempt at taking the 70's paranoia/assassination genre and putting it in a worn-out future setting. Needs another rewrite one day.

Ryatt Act ( action) written in the 90's as a Le Femme Nikita type action showpiece. Could never get it ironed out and streamlined to my satisfaction. In light of the success of the Bourne franchise, this might be a candidate for updating.

The Mountain King ( thriller/noir) will be posted soon for reviews

Dangerous Curves ( action) a no-apologies B grade drive in movie - chicks in chains who bust out all over! It was written as a tongue in cheek riff on all the women's prison flicks, lots of action and adult content. Got decent notes on TriggerStreet , but some missed the point entirely and accused me of all sorts of woman-hating - sheesh - get a sense of humor already!

Cold Chill (horror) a commissioned script for an indie company - in pre-production limbo - submitted here for posting and feedback

The Dark Walker ( horror) another commission , never produced

CrossFire ( action) commissioned by an indie producer in the southwest, ultimately rejected after a year of rewrites, after it became obvious we were after different types of films - I was after a chase/action thriller - he wanted something lyrical and poetic.

The Clean Up Crew ( horror/comedy) a good, fast, fun spin on the Resident Evil type genre - an industrial cleaning crew is trapped overnight and on the run from bio-engineered experiments gone amok!  One of my personal favorites, will post here soon for feedback.

For Fear Of Little Men ( horror) another 80's script, two couples on a weekend mountain getaway run into something evil - a script with decent ideas but poor execution

Otari ( horror) Originally written in the 80's for a local low budget filmmaker, never produced. My venture into Graham Masterton territory - as a modern day Indian medicine man is done wrong and takes out his vengence on a small town

Cold Heart ( thriller) two lovers from separate marriages are caught up in an illicit affair, and have the bad luck of seeing a serial killer dispose of his latest victim - now they're on his list. An early , clunky script I may rewrite one day

Sex Crimes (thriller) a small group of friends realize they're being targeted as one by one they're attacked by a sexual predator. They decide to turn the tables and stalk him and get payback... an 80's script -not a very good one.

The Flutter Of Black Wings - another 80's effort, Lovecraftian mythos and creatures on the loose in present times - one of those with good ideas but bad execution.

A 70's trilogy: Souvenir / Coast Of Marsellies / Everybody's In Showbiz - some bad bad drama/romance screenplays. Although not an actual trilogy, they're from the same cloth; underdog leading man pines for the Girl Of His Dreams, only to meet with heartache.  Maybe between the 3 scripts there are 2 good ideas. It's a no-brainer as to why I've not tried a love story since!

13 feature scripts, 2 short subjects. One sale, 4 options. Nothing filmed. Damn.

Currently rewriting another writer's SciFi script for an indie producer in L.A.

Hi Mike (Is it Mike?) -- I see you noticed my change to the "scripts you have written" thread haha.

That was not directed at you so much as your post just reminded me of something I had been meaning to do for a while but forgot -- there were plenty before you, so please don't sweat it, OK?

Welcome to the boards, actually.  Looks like you've been busy.

It also looks like you are your own worst critic.  I hope those are not the loglines you intead to use!

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

Hi Bert and thanks! ( and yeah...Mike is correct)

Yep I did change my other post but no worries, I think it's actually better here than there, as I've just begun submitting posts here, so no worries

And yeah I AM pretty critical of my own work - I DO have one or two "darlings" I'll submit here for feedback, but I know my strengths and weaknessess as a writer. There are somethings I've written and I just shudder when I re-read them. On the other hand, my favorites, I'd put right along any of the genre stuff I see being produced these days ( for better or worse yeah I'm proud of them lol).

Hey Mike welcome.  People normally encourage newbies to read a lot to learn the basics before posting anything but after reading your introduction I don't think that's appropriate lol.  Anywho welcome...oh I've said that already...erm enjoy your stay.
