Serious writing from a serously disturbed writer

Hi all. I am Brad Royce, writer and entrepreneur. I starting writing about 2 years ago at the urging of my brother who casually said, "we should write some horror movies." I don't know that I should consider myself a real writer. I don't write every day, only sporadically. I write when I have the time and inspiration. I am also working on launching my other businesses, a billiard apparel company called CutThroat CueSports, which takes a lot of my time. I have posted two projects to this site which haven't yet posted. The first is a feature called Hostile Conscience, a psychological thriller and my first attempt at writing. The other is a short called The Plea Agreement, a thriller. Please watch for them and I will look forward to your comments, good, bad or ugly. I can look back at Hostile Conscience and realize there is a lot of work to be done on it. A re-write is needed and hopefully the feedback will help guide me through the process.

I do look forward to meeting the people here. What I have read so far, it seems like a community of good, like minded people.

Brad

Welcome to the site, I'm a casual writer as well and really enjoy this site so I'm betting you'll like it as well.

If you have the time, I'd recommend reading some of the scripts already posted on these boards and posting your thoughts. That way you're more likely to recieve reads and responses when your own material is posted.

Everything from your intro to the links you provide say "Horror" -- but both your postings are for thrillers.

I am primarily a horror guy myself, though I sometimes dabble elsewhere.  You got anything cooking in the horror department?

Hi Bert.
Hostile Conscience is maybe slightly more psych thriller than horror, but there is plenty of horrific sequences. I am about 3/4 of the way done with Expiration Date which is all horror. I've done a few shorts that are being considered for a director's project of short horror films. If they don't sell there, I'll be sure to post them here.

Oh, and I am working to develop a comic horror series based on the character in my avatar, Mortis Rigor. He's a charctoe I partially dreamed up in my childhood. He's also the icon for my horror site which I've been trying to get up for some time now. Hopefully soon.

Hello Brad,

Welcome to the boards. I work on horror sometimes, but I don't know if you'd call it strictly horror as by definition as I tend to waver off the beaten path.

Sounds like you have your hands full with your store!!!

I wish you every success as you integrate screenwriting into your "serious agenda".

Sandra

Sandra,
I do have my hands pretty full but I am feeling more inspired by this community. I may be dusting off some dormant projects real soon. Thank you & I wish you great success too.
