Alright, so I figured that now is as good a time as any to start a thread that tracks the production of Hello/Goodbye.

When I posted the notice in the "I am looking for" section, I was pretty sure I had an editor, a composer, and a lead actor on tap before the script was written. Mike was cool enough to write the script, and by that time all that was left was to find a lead actress, which proved trickier than I first thought because, let's face it, no budget production isn't exactly a thing people flock to. After much searching we finally found one who we were incredibly impressed with.

As we progress with the production I'll let you guys know how it's coming along.
Once we start shooting I'm going to try to use my new youtube account
http://www.youtube.com/user/justamacguffin to give a sense of how the shoot is going.  I'm also going to keep my blog updated on the progress as much as I can. http://justamacguffin.blogspot.com/
Our ultimate goal is to have this done by late July to send into the Sundance film festival. I know it's a lofty one but at the same time I think it's doable.

Best of luck to you and your intrepid crew! I will make a blood sacrifice to the Gods of Film-making for your success.

It'd be really great if you can see this through to a rewarding conclusion.

Update, filming went well. We got the first 15 minutes filmed and are steadily moving along. Me and Tristan (our editor) are going to meet up on Wednesday and begin editing.

Alright a quick update. Here's the first few minutes of the film. There is footage missing and it's extremely rough.

The music is temp, but I think it works well for what it is.

*note on quality* It's vastly diminished due to the fact it's been converted from .mov to wmv. The real cut is gonna be edited on final cut but for the purpose of the rough cut I changed it to be able to edit on movie maker.

Is that IBC I detect as the beverage of choice?

Alright, so here's the update. We've wrapped the initial night shoot. Right now we have that one last scene left to shoot and we are done.

It went relatively well and I'm pleased with what we have. Now to the editing.

It's been a while since I've updated this. Pretty much it's still being edited. Not having a working camera is killing me.

However, what I have edited I'm really pleased with and this scene is one I'd like to show everyone.

Enjoy

That wasn't bad.  The acting was ok too.   But the bouncing back and forth made me feel a bit dizzy.

Why B&W?

Thanks, yeah the cinematography here was a little joggy cause I wanted to reflect the uneasiness between the two of them. This is the only scene where it jumps around like that.

Ah we actually did black and white because the color was off in certain scenes and it was easier to balance everything out without the color.

Talking heads drive me CCCCRRRRAAAAZZZZZYYYYY!

Seriously, though, looks good.  Took a little bit of getting used to with the jumping back and forth part at the beginning, but all in all I'd say it's coming along nicely.

Thanks, yeah I was really pleased with how it turned out. I was going for the handheld look for the film and I'm hoping it comes across effectively for the film.
