How,

That's a Native American translation for "hello" spelled wrong. I could have spelled it right and gone with "hao", only that would have forced me to make an offensive joke at the expense of Japanese men everywhere. Although it's not like they'd be able to read it.

Not at this font size. (You see what happened? That wasn't funny at all.)

My name is Tendai (pronounced Ten-Die) Moyo (like Smith without the Smith). Not to sound conceited but my writing is impeccable. Just kidding, it's outstanding. Just kidding, writing is for losers. Just kidding, losers are cool.

I wrote my first pilot script at the age of 16; since then it's been my only pilot script. My hope is that joining this site will be the impetus to my reinstatement as a screenwriter, with the plan being to start off with a few shorts and review other people's work more often than not. Television is closer to me than films due to the fact that objectifying Carls, Jr. commercials are never shown in movie theatres. That and some stuff about long term narratives and character development.

Random fact #1: I know a self-diagnosed megalomaniac who enacts hour length fantasies of grandeur alone in his bedroom on a regular basis.

Random fact #2: I've known him for 19 years.

Random fact #3: I'm 19 years old.

P.S. Is it too facebook of me to use a self portrait as an avatar instead of a clever cartoon or illustrious film extraordinaire? Or does that make me sort of daring? Please, I treasure my bad boy reputation.

Interesting intro.

Welcome to the boards.   If you read and comment on scripts then you're going to get along here just fine.

A lot of us use pics of ourselves as avatars.

19, alone in the bedroom, fantasies...I don't believe a word of it!

JK, nice to meet you Tendai, you're off to an original start here, most of us like that. Good luck with the writing, hope you stick around long enough to hate but accept some of us anyway.

Darn.

You know what they say. Once you go yellow you never go telo ... phone. Because yellow's so pro that it distracts you from answering the phone and lets it go straight to voicemail.

Hashtag Bazinga.

Thanks for the inviting responses from the crowd. Much better than the disapproving glares I received when I tried to join the local Kasper Kostume Klub. Whatever, their ghost costumes sucked anyway.

Pointed heads? Yeah right.

Can't wait to become one of the community.

Hey Tendai,

Welcome aboard to SS, you seem like an interesting fella looking at your posts. I’m very intrigued to read some your work. What you working on at the moment if you don’t mind me asking?

Have a good one.

Then I have deceived you. Thank you though. You seem like an interesting person based on your resident nation.

Right now I'm working on "Internal Life", a short about a soldier who lost her children amidst a battle with Japan. It's set during the Siberian Intervention of the Russian Civil War, but the history of it was a nominal afterthought after I chose the location for other reasons. The plot focuses on her quest for a purpose following the loss of her children alongside the usurping of her coalition.

That was more spoiler-y than I would have preferred, but sometimes I'm like a successful rapper rapping about being a successful rapper. Once I start, I never stop. Besides, the project isn't finished so my claims of depth and insight could all be spurious.

There's something of a prologue over at this blog if you're interested. The page is still in construction but I created a sample post or two to get a visual of what will become the most visited website in the history of the internet ... connection within a 10 mile radius.

I completed a fantastical science fiction adult action drama for kids and teens TV pilot script that I plan to post after I've showcased some review chops around SimplyScripts. Otherwise I've spent the better part of the last several eons jotting down ideas and titles and song parodies.

The fact that you can correctly use the word spurious in such a self-deprecating fashion is good enough for me.

So, yeah...welcome to the boards.
