It's been a little while since I've been around, though I lurk quite a bit here and there. I've been spending my time writing books mostly, so I haven't had much to say. However, I not only had to 360 myself back to screenplays, but go back to my very first script when someone contacted me asking to buy Vengeance, a script I wrote using a bunch of horror conventions.

Naturally, he asked for some trims, particularly to the dialogue so we could get into the action quicker. Then again, my most common comment is to tighten up the dialogue.

However, I feel this one is a bit more serious since he actually shot me over a modest check, sort of legitimizing the whole thing. He gave himself six months to get his financing together, and I can't find anything negative about him. I'm still cautiously optimistic, but so far, it seems good.

If any updates worth having come about on this, I'll just keep updating this thread.

And oh yeah, the original SS script thread is here. It hasn't been touched in over 5 years, which I thought was a bit wild.

Any writer by nature is 'cautiously optimistic', especially in terms of an option. I'm sure the cheque/check made the experience a little sweeter. I'm not part of the hardcore horror set, but if you're looking for reads/opinions geared towards a trim/rewrite i'd be happy to take a look.

Well done on the option, great stuff.

Well, my cautious optimism comes from having multiple offers before where nothing came of them. I'm a little more optimistic here because there was actually a monetary exchange to legitimize it. Even so, I'm not counting my chickens over here until the sale is done and then, still not looking forward to a production until it actually happens. Perhaps I've grown a tad jaded.

That's one thing that has kept me silent and lurking, really. I didn't want to dampen the enthusiasm.

That's awesome! Really cool to hear it...

You should cautiously buy a private jet.

'Artist' is not a term you should use to refer to yourself. Let others, and your work, do it for you.

Well done, George!  Now comes the long wait to see it it's actually made.  Good luck with that part, it can happen.

Hey, George, congrats on the sale!

Say, I'm a little short this week, you don't happen to have an extra Benji or two on you do ya?

:-)  I'm just (half) kidding.  Does the guy have anything else done, though?  Any experience with getting a film together before?

All right, George.

With the money, it looks like it will be a go.

I hope all goes well.

Best wishes,
