Curt, welcome aboard--i think you'll find everyone here to be the genial types; after all, we are all striving towards the same goal (I think--sometimes I wonder when I read some of the scripts!).  The primary thing is to review things with a critical eye and not worry whether your review might be a little harsh.  We're trying to provide constructive reviews that improves the writer's work, not trash it or discourage them from writing in the future.

I also agree, when reading scripts, I wonder if screenwriting is really something the person would like to pursue, so I get'cha, haha.
