Just thought I'd sign up, as per the recommendation of another user. He has said nothing but good things so I hope to meet new people here, and improve as a writer. Like most of you I'm sure.

Interested in to getting to know you all, and upload a script or ten

I am from Northern Ireland and just started my first spec.

hey mate,

Welcome, I agree with your friend, this site is great for all levels of writing.

Good luck with your first spec script and don't forget to jump in and review a few scripts in between writing.

Look forward to reading your first script.

Michael

Thanks Michael. My name is Steve btw.

Any suggestions on somewhere to start off with my reading?

I'm a sucker for anything Satire or Slasher Horror... or if it's not too crazy, both.

Hi there. Welcome to SS. I'm sure you'll be a valuable member to the community.

Make sure you read and provide feedback on other screenplays if you want other members to return the favor. That's how it works here. Treat others like you would like to be treated and you will be a reward. Plague the boards with your scripts without reading any others, you won't be rewarded.

Welcome aboard.

Dan

Thanks guys. Yeah. That's my end-game here, to learn. I find reading someone else's script and spotting a weakness is every bit an aid as writing at times. I'll spot something they've done wrong then look for that in my own script. Plus, getting to read scripts critically helps when I have to edit.

Yes!  You joined!  Welcome aboard!  I would recommend Thistles, like I previously said, if you're looking for a great drama.

Hope you like it here.  Make sure to get stuck in!

Welcome in. I see you've got Kurtwood Smith as your avatar. Pretty sure some will find it offensive. Hope your writing's better.

Line from Evil Dead (2013). In response to "WE WILL DEVOUR YOUR f****n' SOUL!!!!!!" which is also a line from the movie. If it's in poor taste I apologize.

Thanks Mark. I just read Burnside there. Short done right. You've said a lot about the world without even saying it really. Subtly. The sense of time and place is simple but elegant. Whilst Oscar and his story is depressing it is very relatable, even at 22, I have witnessed life like this. Great job!

I would like to read your features as the writing is seamless but the stories just aren't my cup of tea, unfortunately. Starting Ginger now.
