I've posted a little bit about this on my Facebook page, but I wanted to officially inform everyone here.
Last September, I was contacted by a young director about filming one of my scripts. The script had already been optioned to somebody else, but I admired his passion and drive enough to want to work with him. He gave me feedback about what kind of short film he was hoping to make, and I came up with the story and treatment for him to consider. He liked it, I wrote the full script, and, sure enough, he's turned it into a short movie.
This is the first time I've ever written a script and had it developed without anyone else reading it beforehand or even knowing the story. Not even my family or friends know anything about it. I did this intentionally because I wanted to know if I could write a solid story as a movie without a screenplay to base an opinion on. We'll see how it goes when the completed film is released.
You can see the teaser for the film below:
Oh, and for my American friends, the release date at the end of the teaser is written in the European time format. It is scheduled to be released on December 7, 2014.
Thanks for the continued support, guys! None of this would have been possible without this website, and I truly thank Don and all of the site's members for the invaluable time and attention I've received.
Chris, is this a departure from your usual horror?
I don't want to say too much, as I really want everyone to go in to this thing wondering where the story is going and what's going to happen next. But anyone who enjoyed my other scripts (Hiccups, The Thing That Wasn't, The Doll) will more than likely enjoy this, too.
