I thought i'd give myself a proper introduction.
I'm NYC-based and mainly write in the Horror and Sci Fi genres.
I am here because I want my work critiqued. I have 2 produced films under my belt thus far but before I dive into another project I want to hone my craft. I have a vision but my presentation needs work. And so i'm here.
In addition to screenwriting, I am also a photographer and writer for several alt (namely Gothic/Metal) publications/magazines, (I write reviews of music/books/films, write articles, interview bands, etc).
Random facts: I am a Biology major, working in Genetics (interested in Population Genetics/Evolutionary Biology/Ancient and Medieval History)
A Giallo fiend....and also a fan of Italian Horror or Psychological Horror outside of Giallo too (Suspiria, Blood and Black Lace, La Sconosciuta, La Doppia Ora/The Double Hour, etc etc)
Favorite composers: Wojciech Kilar, Goblin/Claudio Simonetti, Christopher Young, and more recently Eric Neveux (Borgia: Faith and Fear), Alti Ovarsson (The Eagle, The Mortal Instruments), Frans Bak (The Killing), etc
Currently watching: Luther rewatch binge. Also watching Warren Brown (DS Ripley on Luther) in his new shows, X Company, Good Cop, and By Any Means. |

Welcome Prax!
If you become an active member here, you'll get more than your fair share of critique. Be warned though, some people don't hold back. This can be disheartening at first, but once you realize there's no malice behind it things become much clearer.
Good luck! |

Welcome
What are your two produced films, love to give them a watch as a fellow Giallo fan!
Plenty of people will help you on here, it's been immensely helpful to my writing over the past couple of years.

Yeah, pretty much. Anthony was able to win an OWC mug because of the advice I offered him. He never did thank me, which is why I'm taking him to court for part ownership of the mug. |

Not sure I quite remember it the same way Max But my advice would be to stop coveting my lovely mug and win one of your own in the next OWC! Anthony |

Ahh... you've been hijacked already. This happens a lot. Now, you're going to have to do some work to keep people's attention -- just like a teacher does, that occasional call to order. Welcome on board. Hope you enjoy the ride |

Oh, and don't forget to leave feedback on other people's scripts because that's the best way of drawing attention to your own work. |

I was joking btw, to whichever moderator deleted the posts.
If Praxilla gets involved with the feedback, I guarantee people will be more inclined to seek out her work and return the favor.
StevenClark posted feedback on one of my scripts and guess what? The dude didn't owe me anything. I noticed he had a script in the Shorts section as well, so I left him some feedback.
That's all I'm saying to Praxilla.

Thanks all. My two shorts are currently at festivals . They're not Giallos/Gialli. However, the full length I'm working on (Demonized) works as a homage to the Giallo genre in parts.
It's better for my thread to be hijacked than to pass by unnoticed :p. |

My two films are Stranger and Coma; both experimental psychological shorts written and produced by myself, directed by NY indie filmmaker Jeremiah Kipp, and starring Lydia Darly (Exorcist: The Beginning). Coma also stars Melissa Skirboll. |
