Hello everybody. I'm Gerlinde (but you can call me LINDA), and I live in Berlin, Germany. I was a member of the Mormons, and was excommunicated because of transsexuality (I was born as a "boy"). Now I'm a Wicca (Pagan). Since my youth I write. First, short stories and articles (some of which have been published in books and on the Internet), and now scripts. I have a private German forum for screenplays, and I am here to learn from others. Since my English sucks, I do not dare, to translate my German scripts into English, since you could consider it as "native language killing". But maybe I try it with an Expose?
First, welcome to the board. People here can be really helpful, so don't take anything personally in the criticism that people may put up in response to things that you post.
The most important thing is to be a seeker, not a parrot. A Seeker is looking for all kinds of information so that they can make up their own mind. A parrot just wants someone to tell them what to do. Every screenwriter finds their own way, often cobbled from other people's ways and things they read in some screenplay they loved. And I'm sure you'll find yours.

It always depends on the form of criticism. If I, for example, write someone that everything he writes, is total crap, I'm not going to get his attention and his will to learn something. But if I write what I think is good or bad on the script, and can justify the also essential, he will not feel attacked and forced to defend his screenplay. So we both learn something from it.

That's the reason why I'm here. I want to learn, perfect myself to write better scripts. BTW, I have a question: Would it be possible if there are enough non-English writers are here to set up an area for them. And another question I have also (as you can see, I'm not curious) yet: What software uses your writing? I use drama queen, developed by screenwriters German software with which you can write lyrics in English, Spanish and French. And, so you can check your own story (it fulfills all the conditions of a narrative structure?). Even graphically.
Your first question - that's best left pose to the site Admin - Don. You can PM him, or one of the MODs (Pia or Bert) or maybe he'll (Don) catch wind of your post.
As for the second - writers here use various software, like Trebly, or some version of Final Draft, Celtx, Fade in, ect... personally I use MM screenwriter. I never heard of drama queen, might have to check it out.

I'm a non-English writer, but I try to sound American, you know)) You won't see me in that area) There are two non-English writers and one is doing better than any other English writer I know. Actually the other one is doing better than any other English writer (no seriously) - I strive to be like them. You can never tell from their scripts they are non-natives - really never ever. And I know for a fact that they speak with an accent.
