Bart,

Seven hours after you started this thread, you began another one asking for help with an another one of your script idea du jours.  Focus, you little idiot!  It's bad enough that you keep asking us for help with your damn stories, but now you going to get someone's hopes up by convincing them that you're going to produce his script.  This is all well and good until some other shiny thing catches your attention and you drop this project because you have a cool idea about a dog with a 180 IQ.

Okay i guess i can't write or produce.  Since you're a good writer you would know. You've crushed me. This really hurt. I am no more. I'll just focus on school and not to talk to anyone. I guess i am an Idot. I can't write Man right  when i got my hopes up. There crushed. To the floor. I guess everbody the king says i can't do anything. I won't do anything when i graduate. I was just here on earth for nothing.

He's doing nothing different than anybody else Dogglebe. I believe I could name 8 others who do the same thing and 1 posted in here... I think the "cat" speaks volumes. I'm no good with subtle hints but I think you know who I mean nonetheless.

No but how many others have so many ideas posted that we're sick of them which i believe was one part of what you meant... The whole script ideas part, who cares about this crap as it doesn't matter to any of us but BigWhoop.

People avoid these threads as the people who start them are usually young kids who have nothing to offer.

You should know from experience that they all eventually go away anyway, mostly cause they can't handle the truth.

Could you please act like a normal human being?  Right now you're acting like one of those whiny little dogs that never shuts up.  If you want help, fine, but you are all over the place and your responses make me want to jam my monitor on your head.  There was this other guy who used to post a new thread in the WIP section all the time and they took up over 30 posts, then he'd decide to cancel his project and move onto the next thing.  It's aggravating to read this over and over and over and over and over.  See what I mean?

You have nothing to argue, Bart.  You know I'm right.  You want to be a PITA by posting fifty ideas a week, and asking for help with each one, that's one thing.  Telling someone that you're going to produce their work when, we all know, you're going to abandon it as soon as the thrill goes it, just plain sucks.

The writer feels like shit when this happens.  I know this from experience.

I actually offered a short to Bart for his project.  Not a horror movie, but interesting nonetheless.  I submitted it to Don a couple of days ago, and am waiting for it to be put up so he can take a look at it.  Not my best stuff, but it's 26 pages, interesting, and something different than what I've submitted before.  My logline rules.

I figure I don't have too much to lose here, but I can see where both sides are coming from.

Mike, I've made deals with people to produce a couple of my scripts (and I'm not talking thirteen year olds with camcorders).  And each time they bailed, I felt like punching someone.  It's frustrating and it's extremely discouraging.  I'm trying to save others from this feeling.

Phil,

I completely understand what you mean.  This is just a script that I wrote over the weekend, and was submitting to SS to see if anyone "digs" it.  It's not the comedy stuff I've submitted in the past, more of an experiment to see if my darkside still works.  If he wants to use it fine, maybe he'll put it up on Real and we can all enjoy it, or not, and I'll go back to my hole.

Personally, when I hear someone will produce something, I say ok, here you go, and assume nothing will happen. It makes it that much better when it does. I talked to some kids from Australia once and they wanted a script. I wrote a script and emailed it over (that's generally how I operate; don't give any of my own stuff, but write something new). I went on with my life. Two months later, I get an email asking where to send the DVD. I watch it occasionally even though over half the script got trimmed. It's amusing.

I guess I don't get my hopes up for anything, and at the same time, I have nothing to lose. After all, I'm not a paid professional, but I want to be, so by putting myself out there, who knows, maybe one of those kids will be in the business someday, and think back to when they wanted a script, and...

Writing, producing, and directing are different skills, and only a very rare few can accomplish all three of them. Maybe where he comes up short as a writer, he can succeed in directing or producing. A lot of people who produce or direct want to have a script, so they sit down to write their own, only to find that they can't. They know what they want to see, and can spot a plot hole a mile away, but when it comes to actually writing the screenplay they so desperately need, the skill isn't there.

Oh darn you figured it out, and I was really trying to keep the secret... No, no I wasn't.

Don't get mad at me for being a real member and sticking around even when people don't read my work and also for actually leaving reviews people care to read instead of "I liked it"

If you want to call me on it first take a long look at yourself bigwhoop and then go away for another few months and come back with a new attitude.

Bartman just do what I told you in that pm, avoid the drama and to add it's not too late to build yourself back up in the eyes of the people. Give stuff a go, don't quit and just get some motivation.

He's just a kid i'm assuming. As am I. You guys may be older and know a lot more about writing, but some of you are not proving to be more mature. I don't often contribute, nor to I like conflicts, but it's a little disgusting how some of these replies are going. Seriously I know it's gotta be a awful feeling when some1 says they'll produce you're work and then suddenly jump ship, but honestly dont' tell the guy he's never going to do anything. Everybody needs goals and dreams. Instead of telling some1 they're a blabbering idiot give them constructive critiscm like u guys do on scripts. I know if I were 15 (im 16 now lol so i guess i cant talk) but wen i was 15 i was wide eyed and thinking of huge action movies id make with my friends. I thought of big action movies i would make when i was older. For a group of older guys to tell me I'm crap would pretty much kill my motivation.

But honestly I know where some of you guys are coming from personally, but you guys r attacking him. And he hasn't been nasty back either. Stop and think about if you were younger and having your dream...

He's not going to do anything because he never finishes what he started.  One day he's asking us for help about his story of a sheep herder who dreams of throwing the discus in the Olympics.  After he gets a few replies, he starts a new thread asking for advice on a story about a blind gunfighter.  After a few replies, he asks for about about his new script about a sentient hard boiled egg.

If he keeps bouncing around, he never will do anything.

He was polite at first (we all were), but he did get nasty.

And when I was younger (in my teens), I used a typewriter.  It was a much slower process.  Once you started something, you made sure you finished.

Nobody has focus anymore, the day of the writer is dead. All we have now is unoriginal garbage and the guys who write it know what they're doing is killing the business for the rest of us (Guys and Girls who write original works)

Right now in the state of it all I don't or would not want anything produced as it would be grouped into the filth they produce.

I respect bartman for going independant but Dogglebe has points that cannot be taken back as they aren't to far off the truth if not spot on it.

Again my thoughts and mine alone.

Fascinating opinion there, Wes. Are you sure you're on the right board? Personally, I want to write and be paid to do it. While there is filth being produced, there is also a fair amount of solid material as well. People who write good material get good material produced, and whether or not you group everyone into the filth category (and I just want to be the first to thank you for over-generalizing that one for us), you also have to understand that while writers do write stories that started out as good, producers tend to cut and chop said stories into what we end up seeing. They have the final word.

Whatever led you to this remarkably negative conclusion that implies we should all hang up our word processors and work at McDonald's, I think you're way, way off.

McDonalds? I don't believe I've heard of such a place, though I vaguely remember a building they tore down and forgot to rebuild a couple years back that used to have that name.

Anyway you're welcome. Look I'm not saying you (Or anyone) should hang it up or anything but why else do you think a guy like you (A good writer, good personality, easy to get along with) basically everything you'd want in a professional still be here?

I'm not one to sugar coat my thoughts so it shouldn't be surprising that I’d say something like that.

I still think bartman; to stay on topic should really try this. If you're not confident in your writing skills quit, become a full time director and produce a screenplay. Give people a reason to believe in you.

Mike offered you a script and you've gotten all of this attention which is what you cried out for, what else can you want?
