My name is David May and I'm a final year Video Production student at Bournemouth University. For my major, I'm looking to create a 5-10minute extended trailer. I've taken a look at some of the unproduced scripts on this site and they're very good. However, they're not excatly what I'm after.
Ideally, I'm lookng for someone to write a short 'trailer' script, complete with VO, scene discriptions, text suggestions and a good storyline. What I really want to do, is create at least 1 'action' scene, but would also like the story to be quite dark and sinister.
If anyone feels they can help, or would like more information, please do either post here or contact me on MSN/email - essexdaveuk@hotmail.com
Hi there. It's not that there isn't a 'script' i dont like, just there are none that are for 'trailers'. They're all 90+pages long. Now, I can appreciate it sounds lazy, but I can't read through then decide wether its suitable.
If you think that there are some nice 'dark', 'action' scripts out there, then I'd happily read through some to see if its suitable.
What I was ideally after, is either a link to, or for someone to write a 5-10minute script that is ready for me to take, and produce. You dont need to do 'setting scenes' or 'props', just the text and a vague idea would be enough.
Shelton, thanks for the link - however the problem with short stories are that it's not really 'trailer' material. Think of recent hollywood stories - they basically just put the 3/4/5best shots of the film, along with a very brief basic outline of the story, with a few 'text' titles or lines.
Thats not to say I don't appreciate what you linked me though.

Maybe I should narrow it down a bit. I'm looking to make a trailer for my video production final major. Its my degree course, so I really need it to be as good as possible (im aiming for a first).
Something I'm absolutly no good at is writing stories or scripts. I have to be honest. I'm next to useless. That's why, I thought maybe you guys would be the best first port of call. It's obvious that you guys have a passion for writing and from what I've read, are compitent in your field. However, it's not a complete 'story' I'm after - rather a 'best bits' and dialogue formatted in a way it'd make a cracking movie trailer.
I'm wanting to create something 'epic'. I've got a few guys who are really hot on their color grading and adding emotion to film, so my key inspirations (for feel of the piece) are trailers such as '300' and 'I am Legend'. Both 'ok' films, but their trailers are stunning.
What I'm asking from anyone interested, is basically a script of one of your stories - cut down and formatted, ready to made into a trailer. I want to pick the script up, read through it and go 'damn that's an awsome trailer right there - I would pay to go see that movie!' So, who is up for it?
[note - i obviously dont expect you to write every single 'cut' image (as that would be hundreds) but maybe a couple to set the scene/mood inbertween VO's.]
Full credits, and all will be given to you as writer of the piece, as well as a link to your personal website/email if you so desire. I want to make soemthing good and epic....I really hope someone can come up with something.
I assume you're still looking for something in the Action genre, but how much action are we talking? I've got a couple scripts that I can write trailers for, but I don't think they'd be worth a damn without some FX work.
I've been thinking this thing over and decided to try it.
How much action do you want in this? Is this supposed to be an action film (trailer)? Or do you just want some action in it? I have two features here that are relatively dark (one with much more action than the other) and I also have an idea for a dark drama/thriller that's I've been paying with in my head.
It might help everyone and simplify your life too if you list your production constraints.
What locations do you have to work with? House, alley, backyard, street, forest, etc.? Are you going to use a car? Be willing to use fake guns? Are you going to try night shoots? Do you have people in mind that will work for free so that you know you need parts for two actors and one actress?
