Hey all,

Remember me?

Anyway I'm looking for a script.  Comedy.  Under ten pages.  I'm gonna pitch it to Crazy 8s, which is a funding program for emerging filmmakers in Vancouver, BC.

Hoping some of you have some scripts/suggestions.  I would write myself but I'm in pre-production on an action short and post-production on a comedy short and just basically don't have the time.

I wouldn't offer any compensation for the script but if I successfully pitch it, it would be shot with professional equipment (at about the $25,000 level) and I'd work hard to make it the best that it could be.

Would love to work with someone from SimplyScripts.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Chris

Hey Chris,

Check out my website.  Got a lot of comedy shorts there, the latest ones being 88 Keys ( I thinks that's 11 pages though) and Blind Date Bedlam.

Hi Chris,

I have a few shorts all under 12 pages.  Most of mine are comedies or have an element of humour.

Hi Chris,
I have two little shorts that may be of interest, ' The Greedy tooth fairy" which is a fantasy/comedy that can also be done as a animee ( New version not on SS);
OR,
" The grim-reaperess" not a full on comedy but light. http://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-short/m-1199920451/

Chris, I have a whole bunch, all 8-9 pages:

These two are probably what I would consider my strongest:

Pumpkin Love  This ones about a sort of geeky kid going after a girl who's never heard of him.  This one would be pretty easy to make, too.
Postman Pete This one's about an actor with a bit part in a sitcom who can't be happy with what he has.

And these fit what you want, their just a bit less realistic and I haven't tuned them up in a while.

Entrances and Exits About a regular guy who exits a regular 7-1 and enters an over-dramatic old west.
A Very Bad DayThis is about a guy who due to a variety of different cases of mistaken identity keeps getting beat up.
You Win Some, You Lose Some This was written just as a sort of sketch, its about  Parents who lose their children and don't seem to care too much about it.

I have one that's under four pages.

Not Working Out - A desperate woman's visit to the gym proves to be a real eye opener.

Pia asked a valid question I think: what type of comedy are you looking for?

Comedy is like sex, there's a bunch of different ways of doing it. Are you looking for slapstick comedy or dialogue comedy? Should it be "light" comedy, the more raunchy stuff or a black comedy?

Hi,

Valid question indeed.

I'd say "light" or black.  Slapstick or dialogue based comedy, either is good with me, but the raunchy stuff I can do without.  From my research on Crazy 8s, cute, light little comedies are the most successful/often produced.  Black comedies are less frequent but do well also.

I love to watch raunchy comedy but I don't think I'd enjoy making one.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys, I've read most of the scripts mentioned but I don't know if I've found the one that's quite right yet!

That sounds like a challenge.
