If anyone is interested in working on one with me please send me a PM! I've already got a first draft done, I'm looking for a writer to do a second, better draft, to make it more emotional/gritty. If anyone is interested please, let me know!

Bill, you really should pick something and run with it.  When you first popped up here, you were looking for a writer for a horror script.  Then it was for a hitman script.  Now it's for a police drama/thriller.  And this is all in five or six months!

Don't go asking for a writer if you don't know what you want.

Why not post your first draft?  Get some reads and comments and improve your script like everyone else here does.  Why do you need another writer?

To: dogglebe,

I understand that. I did start working on them myself, I decided it was better that way. I'm almost finished with my hitman idea, I'll be posting that here.

And for the first draft:

Because it's not done. It's rushed trash. I wanted another writer to team with, see what could be fleshed out. I got the basic story down, I got everything written in the first draft besides the ending (I just have the notes).

Shouldn't this be in the collaborative thread then?

Technically he is looking for something.

Why would you write trash and expect someone else to make it better? That is what people get paid for.

In order to get help you need an outline first. You can't just expect someone to pick up and know what direction to take this.

Well then nevermind. Since no one's interested then this has no point.

How about you post it up, or send it out to people, and ask for feedback? That way, you can fix your problems, and you can say that you are the writer, and not share the limelight (weird word innit!) with someone else.

Also, as Wesley-the-guy-who-constantly-changes-his-screen-name-Python said, we need to see an outline of it, to understand it fully.

Yes? No? Maybe?

And even though Chuck rhymes with both suck and cock, I think the man hid some kind of advice in there...some where.

You missed the good old days when I changed it more often.

It is not a lack of interest. It is the fact that you put down your own work but want someone else to help.

In my opinion most collaborative efforts between two writers need an outline to be any good. In my experience as well it helps more so than coming in at a later stage without any clue as to what you are getting into.

Personally I like and at one point thought about writing a police drama/thriller and even "treatmented" it but never got around to it.

At that point I was still with you... that's when you said you had a draft done and it was garbage. You lost me and probably everyone else who reads threads.

I think lack of interest is a part of it.  I would hate to write something for someone who, after two weeks' work, decides he wants to work on something else.  And once you get the reputation of doing this (especially to others), you're like plutonium.

You’re bailing on this project after one day? Discipline, anyone?
