I'm currently planning out a horror-comedy feature, and I'm looking to read scripts with a similar theme for research and ideas.
I've found the scripts for Slither, Tremors and Eight-Legged Freaks. The ones I'm really looking for are:
Shaun of the Dead Severence The Cottage
If anyone has any ideas of other films that would be good to look at, then by all means hit me with them. I'm looking more for creature-features than scripts featuring human antagonists...I know two of the ones I've asked for feature human killers, but it's really the British-ness I want to look at in those.
Thanks all! |

Weirdly these are the films that inspired me to write my new feature, which I've just finished. If you indeed write a horror comedy like these, I'll defo have to read it. |

One of my favourite horror comedies is Braindead. Also Bad Taste is a good one, and Young frankenstein is very funny. |

Thought it was. I kind of remember it, there's a bit where he's in bed and the guy walks down the wall above him. Also I remember a funny bit in the cellar with him pretending someone elses legs are his own. |

Clue -- Kinda horror/thriller/mystery movie. Once Bitten -- Vampire, not-so funny, save a scene or two, movie. Transylvania 6500 -- Not bad... Jeff Goldbloom is in it. Return of the Living dead -- One of the best movies ever made. "ha" My Boyfriends Back -- Zombie comedy. Not bad.
Just some off the top of my head. |

SimplyScripts has got the scripts for both of the Gremlins movies. I always thought those were silly fun. Who doesn't love Gizmo? |

Three that initially came to mind were Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive," Tarantino's "From Dusk Till Dawn" and the last HBO Green Light project, "Feast."
There were two films with similar titles, "Night of the Comet" and "Night of the Creeps." One had Valley Girls and the other had Tom Atkins.
Then there was "Killer Klowns from Outer Space." And Treat Williams/Joe Piscopo's "Dead Heat."
The "Hidden," with Kyle McLaughlin, was a great film dealing with an alien evading capture by jumping from human host to human host. Another film with a like theme was Rae Dawn Chong's "The Borrowers," about a banished alien who is exiled to earth and takes up residence in a human host. Then spends a lot of film time swapping heads.
And last, a New Zealand film I have not seen, "Black Sheep."
I don't know how accessible the scripts are on these films. Feast, the original script that was won in Green Light, has floated around forever. I'm sure the same goes for "Dusk." |

Ummm. I've seen this film. It's not very good but it's amusing and it has its share of sheep joke - told like none other than the Kiwi's could. Only watch this if you must have a complete set. |

I was just about to add this to my Netflix list. Sheep jokes, eh? Not my cup, so I'll have to give this one more thought... |

I think Dead Alive is the American title for Braindead? Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a quality film! |
