Because of all the lame rumors floating around that the script is bad - even thugh Zack Synder was just brought on board to direct. If the script gets altered/rewritten, I would love to see where Nolan and Goyer were going with the reboot.

They were supposed to do two or three Superman movies and two or three Batman movie and then do a World's Finest movie.  Not sure if this is still the plan.

I'm still waiting to hear about a New Gods movie.

I'm so glad the average movie goer is so intelligent.   I'd hate to see them all get confused by the influx of pointless remakes and reboots Hollywood force feeds them.  What's this make in under 5 years time, 25 or 30?

With that said,  Superman has never Once peaked my interest.  Not in comic, cartoon, toy, videogame or movie fashion.  He's too overpowered too sympathize with.  Even though he is from Kansas, which is close to home.  "cough"... The Flash is really the only superhero I'm interested in seeing adapted for the big screen, but knowing Hollywood they'd use Wally West and not Barry Allen, which is the best Flash.  Hollywood always mucks everything they touch up.

Hollywood could fuck up an Ice Cream Cone.

I think they are Going for "BIRTHRIGHT" storyline written by Mark W. The problem with superman is not the script. It's the adaptation of that character into the real world.

I mean story about a man who fly in red underpants... ahem that's awkward.
