Howdy.  Could someone point me to a suitable Step Outline on this site please?

I'm working by email with a chap who is new to script writing (I'm hardly a wise old sage myself ) and I'd like to show him a few produced outlines and the like.  We're working on a drama series set in the 1960s, England, six episodes 50-60 minutes each.

Many thanks in anticipation

You will find a few outlines here:

http://www.simplyscripts.com/treatments.html

But these tend to be working documents, with no formalized formatting that you need to follow.

They are simply for the author's benefit, and seldom see the light of day anywhere else.

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

Ah, no it's not really what I was looking for, those seem to be full scripts, I'm looking for Step Outlines - that might be an old terminology, I don't know.  It's a step by step brief description of each scene I need.

Thank you, that's great - maybe it would have been easier if I'd said 'Beat sheet' and not step outline

this is a truly special forum, I should visit more often, shame on me!

Hey, ONS you should visit more often, it's nice to see another Northerner on the boards.  Just out of interest, what's the series about or do you not wish to divulge?

Hello!  No need to divculge much, just to say that my co-writer is an ex-cop and he worked in the police force in the 60s

It's all based on true events in that decade, but darker than say Z Cars.

I've put 'an X-rated Z Cars' in the outline, just hope that when we get to actually pitvh it, the readers are old enough to know what Z Cars is

An update - this is still going on, we've been rather slow with it all but progress HAS been made nonetheless.  We've got six episodes outlines and whilst my co-writer is a bit sceptical about certain dark aspects I want to include, he has contributed some very good ideas and I WILL get my own way (cue manic laughter )

Alffy, are you there?  If you'd like to chat about this idea I'd be happy to do so, we might even be able to bounce some ideas off each other for this, being grimoopnorth as it's meant to be

Graham, my co-writer on this, The Shift, is one of those ex-bobbies who were 'clean' and straightforward, and I think this series idea is a way for him to cleanse himself of some bad experiences which he couldn't do much about when in the force all those years ago.  He was based in the south of England.
