Hey Guys!

I'm looking for movies with multiple villains...

They should be basically after the same thing, but not necessarily working together.
Ideally, something with a climax where they clash with each other and the hero.
Double crosses and triple crosses are welcome.
Comic book villains with different agendas forced together need not apply.

So far I've got...

True Romance
Enemy of the State

Any and all recommendations appreciated!

Regards,
E.D.

Would The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly count?

How 'bout something recent?

Just saw the flick Safe over the weekend.

Jason Statham's anti-hero goes up against the Russian mob, Chinese Triad and crooked cops! And yes, the Russians and the Triad are in a gang war with one another.

(BTW, in case you are wondering, there is no shortage of bone snapping, gunplay and overall body count! The bad guys on all sides have no code against offing innocent bystanders!)

Anyway...some of that and your question in general Brett, as well as the mention of 'Good Bad & Ugly' got me thinking of ...Akira Kurasawa's Yojimbo which inspired Sergio Leone's A Fistful Of Dollars and Walter Hill's Last Man Standing. Hill also directed Extreme Predujice which had a surprise villian (Micheal Ironside) against villian (Powers Boothe) against hero (Nick Nolte)

Lucky Number Slevin also cropped up in my mind as well.

I don't know if Freddy vs Jason counts...but there's always Monster Squad

"Comic book need not apply"
Awww...come on. No Batman Begins/ Dark Knight, Brett? Can't you make an exception?

How about Guy Ritchie's "Snatch"? One of my favorite ensemble of anti-heroes.

"Thursday" with Thomas Jane.  Strange flick, don't really like it -- but don't really hate it -- Seen it enough times to constitute me liking it.  Meh, watch it, you might like it.

Yeah, think I'll revisit the source.
I'm sure trusty old Kurosawa will provide some insights, thanks.

Good call on the Kurosawa and Hill.
Those guys know how to mix it up with the villains!
I'll have to revisit Prejudice, haven't seen it since it hit theaters.

Any heist movie.

True, there's always seems a double/triple cross element in most heist flicks.
But in this case, the heist is only one facet of a larger operation.
So, I can't dwell on that dynamic too much.

E.D.

How about "The Quick and the Dead"? After all, that's just "Mortal Kombat" in the old west.

Near Dark and House of 1,000 Corpses also fit the bill. Surprised at how difficult it is to come up with immediate examples for this.

It does seem to be a rare bird outside of heist pictures.
And while this script contains a heist, it's not about that particular job...
But the mission that theft allows two villains working together to pull off.
They dupe a third villain to give them access to something they need.
But the third villain deals themselves back into the game in the third act.

So yeah, a tad tricky to find inspiration examples.

E.D.
