Hi, I am looking for a script with and for kids and it occurred to me that Unproduced Scripts by Genre has no "children" or "kids" section. I can see why that may be to some extent, after all a script may have kids in it but be for adults but in this case I am seeking a script for a kids film and it will take me a lot more research to find one.

Perhaps in the future a section for that could be created?

Thanks.

Hello Creepy,

I think what you are really looking for is a customisable search, whereby anyone can search for a script based on cast age, location, budget, or any other selection criteria. While that's a great idea, from a website point of view, it means that when scripts are uploaded, all that data would have to be provided and tagged to that script in a searchable database, which is a fair amount of work.

It might be easier to post a thread in 'General Chat' or Things you are looking For' and se if you get any hits.

Hey Creepy, I have to say that your screen name isn't great when you're looking for 'kid' scripts lol.

Seriously though what type of script are you looking for?  I ask as I wrote a kid friendly horror script for a project that was meant to be shot by a school for the students.

Check out my scripts...if you want to, no pressure.

You can find my scripts here

Thanks Creepy,

I guess most of the writers on SS, probably write with an adult audience in mind, so you probably may not find many screenplays that suit your requirements.

It may be worth throwing a few ideas on the board and getting someone to write a screenplay based on what you are looking for.

Regards Alex

I have a kid friendly scipt called -- The Wall Fairy. It's NOT low budget though.

When I first read this post ...I was like missing children...children missing I have one of those features too called Clairvoyance.

Just post what you're looking for and I'm sure you will get plenty of scripts to choose from.

There's one on moviepoet.com called Two Children Reported Missing.
http://moviepoet.com/script.aspx?scriptid=3042

You have to sign in to read scripts there / get a post out there. Maybe you could email the writer or something - once you sign in, you see all the email addresses too.

I have many scripts about children of my own but not about missing kids.

Hi, I have been looking for a short script to shoot about kids for kids. I would love if I could sort and see all the scripts for just that genre. It takes considerable time to go through and see which ones might work. very few would.

Thanks for considering this.

Would you mind giving us a bit more info of what you are looking for such as genre? Are you looking for a 15 min or 5 min short? The topic you're looking for?

Just Murdered by Sean Elwood (Zombie Sean) and Gabriel Moronta (Mr. Ripley) - (Dark Comedy, Horror) All is fair in love and war. A hopeless romantic gay man resorts to bloodshed to win the coveted position of Bridesmaid. 99 pages.

Hello Creepy.

We don't have a Family forum for shorts, per se.
They're all spread out amongst the standard genres.

If you're looking for something fun, I'm a big fan of this one...

The author's a veteran here, easy to find.
Check it out!

In the meantime, why don't you tell us a little about yourself and film goals.

Regards,
E.D.

Hi, I am a filmmaker, Director, Editor(if I have to). The short I am looking for right now is one I can produce "no budget" in my neighborhood with my kiddo and the neighbor kids. They are an adorable bunch of kids and I want to capture how they look at this time period-really I wish I had done this a year ago!

I am looking for something around 5-10-15 minutes that takes place in one or several homes in a neighborhood, backyards, parks. A subject matter not too violent or dark, prefer something with mystery and/or playfulness.

Thanks.

Hey Creepy.

What you can also do is make a post in the "What you're looking for" thread and give some specifics as to what you had in mind to film.  It's an alternative to searching for an existing short that fits your specifications and there are quite a few members that are willing to take you on.  Best of luck with the project.

I'll concur with Brett. If anything, I'm sure Greg could whip something up for you.

the problem with creating such categories is that a kid's movie would actually be placed under drama or comedy or adventure.  Would you post 'Goonies' under kids films and adventure?  There would be a lot of gray area in whether a script is kid/family friendly.

Sounds like a lot of work.
