Any of you folks have the script for The Raid Redemption?

I've never read a marshal arts script and I'd like to see what it looks like on the page because I thought it was awesome on film.

If you have it, please to send it to me at artywhale at hotmail.co.uk.

Cheers all.

I imagine that an English version of this may be hard to come by, given that it is a foreign film, and all. From my experience, foreign scripts are only translated if there is a chance that they will be up for some kind of American/ English award.

I will keep my eye out for you though.

Good point, Toby.

I never thought of it being written in a foreign language purely because the director is a Welshman.

I won't go getting my hopes up now though.

Normally this would be true. But the Raid was directed and written by a Welsh fella name of Gareth Evans. I think his wife is Indonesian - hence the connection.

I'd say it's more than likely there would be an English version of his sequel. Or maybe not.

Yeah, you're probably right, R!

I guess it will come down to the degree to which Gareth Evans is also fluent in Indonesian, because if he is not, he would have initially written the script in English, before having it translated into Indonesian.

However, as he lives in Jakarta, has an Indonesian wife, and has produced, written and directed a number of Indonesian films, he could easily have a decent enough grasp of the language to write the script in Indonesian. This would make his life a lot easier as well, thus removing the added step and saving the extra hassle of having both the script, the studio's development notes, the fight choreographing, etc. translated, and allowing him to get more directly involved with the projects.

However, I know two English filmmakers currently making stuff in South Korea, and they write all their scripts in English, before having them translated, so who knows!

If I do stumble across the script, I'll post it up here

In the meantime, here's the script for Kill Bill, which may help?
