If ruled.  Period.  Okay, dawgs?  I haven't seen the new kung-fu movies, I saw pretty all the seventies ones at some japanese dude's theatre (r.e. knows what I'm talking about) so I went back to that theatre to see this one, and the japanese man is actually still alive, which amazes me, in 75 he turned 60, so that makes him...89.  Enough about that, i thought this movie was amazing visually, as well as the fights, and it also had a strong story to back it up so it wasn't just a dazzling fight film with a story

Whoa...!

I've finally downloaded this film. I wasn't sure if I'd like it because I'd seen it advertise and thought it looked awesome, I'd pumped myself up about it, which in my case normally means the film's gonna turn out to be shite! But it wasn't. I was completely drawn into the story as well as the fight scenes.

The "blue scene" where they're fighting on the lake was just mesmorizing! I couldn't take my eyes off! I need to watch this again...

Having just bought Hero, I thought that I should also mention the absolutely impeccable sound editing.  It truly is fantastic - I was unable to spot a single flaw, which is surprising considering the magnitude of some of the fights and as well as the sheer number of action scenes.

What is it with people bringing over foreign films with subtitles or bad voice overs with english chinamen?

It's next to impossible at times to follow the subtitles when there is a long speech, luckily there weren't to many because these films don't need much talk.

The action and the visuals were great, the pacing was perfect it's just the speech that brings the film down for me. I think these films should stay in the homeland and come over here on DVD but not theatrically. It takes away from real film makers.

I know that lead guy can speak english and same with that slave girl Zhang Ziyi or vice versa not very well mind you but she can. This is a good film, don't get me wrong but unless i go learn the language in which they speak it will never be anymore than just a good film in my books.
