My God.

What a great performance Jamie Foxx gives.

I went to this film on the fact that it was heavily buzzed and also because I'm a Ray Charles fan. And truly, I was deeply into this film.

Yes, it 2 and 1/2 hours long. It does sag a bit in the middle. It has a few cliches. But the complex man Jamie Foxx makes Charles out to be is just fantastic.

Before, I didn't have much respect for Jamie Foxx. I was impressed by his work in "Collateral" but I still wasn't sure if he handle a "serious" film.

I now have a great new respect for the man. He truly is a great actor.

Overall it's a great movie. Great supporting cast and (in some scenes) some pretty stylish directing.

I'm 99% sure that Foxx will at least be nominated for an Academy Award.
