HEre are my two reviews for Pitch Black and Riddick, let's get to the better one first:

PITCH BLACK:
****1/2 out of *****
This movie was great. Aside from the acting by Vin Deisel (wich is never good, but I have to admit this was his best movie) this movie had just about everything.  It had some great sci-fi elements (ex: alien/monsters, eclipse, different planet) alot of thriller elements, although it didnt exactly thrill me. And many action scenes, if there's one thing that Deisel does right it's put on an action sequence. The missing half a star from a perfect score is from, as stated before, the less-then-stellar acting by Deisel.

THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK
*** out of *****
Great visuals, great story. Bad acting, corny writing. So many corny lines from horrible actor Vin Deisel made me take  stars from this movie. And for almost 2 1/2 hours I could barely take it. The movie did, however, have a great plot and great special effects, but the damn acting cast just ruined what could have been a great movie.

There you go. Ill probably have reviews for "Starship Troopers" and the 1971 Cult classic "Vanishing Point"  soon enough.

FAVORITE MOVIES:
1. Clerks
2. Mallrats
3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
4. Napoleon Dynamite
5. American Beauty
6. Spanglish
pretty much any kevin smith flick or movie with Adam Sandler.

Here's the big problem with both films Vin Diesel, I thought they were below average in a world full of okay films. not that it's bad and surely not that it deserves 4 or even a 3... 2.5 half there half not there

I thought Pitch Black's atmosphere was a little bit more suited and trying to incorpate back story the girl from the first one as a grown up, she reminds me of a poodle. You just want to punch it for looking so stupid

"Pitch Black" was ok, a cool actioner and popcorn flick to watch on a rainy day. I haven't seen "Chronicles of Riddick", though.

My brother got pitch balck from his college library. I watched this, expecting it to be like a slasher flik or sumthing. Even tho it wasnt i found it pretty good. The CGI or watever u call it was kind of lame. Especially with the bats coming out and picking up that lady. That was so fake

Ididnt see chronicles, was it any good?

Yes and the way he found out is because she started having her "girl problem" if you know what I mean, that's how it came off to me and it's a very funny scene. He sniffs and than you see blood.

It's creepy, that same girl comes back in Chronicles as an older girl.

I'm actually not sure if it's the same girl, the problem is she's even more manly in Chronicles and a little barbarian like as well.

I think the payoff since I hate Vin Diesel with a passion is poor, not that I don't enjoy the films just I don't like Vin Diesel but if you haven't watch Chronicles because it's okay

The plot is kinda in a nutshell Riddick is summoned by that preacher guy because someone is threatening his planet, Riddick also finds out that the girl is locked up in some type of prison.

It is basically an action flick
