Haha -- sounds like you got suckered in by The Asylum -- who shamlessly produce very similar-sounding films to hit films -- then picked up by suckers at the video store.
I have no idea how they get away with such classics as:
The Day the Earth Stopped Snakes on a Train Transmorphers The Da Vinci Treasure
And the list goes on. Sounds like you learned your lesson, but be on the lookout for these clowns.
Ah, but the Asylum gives me hope that I could create my own basement movie house and make a living at it. If they can get backing and distribution for the "studio tie-ins" they produce, then certainly one that triers to make something at least a tad more legit would have hope...right?
Also, if I'm not mistaken, they do have the rather dubious distinction of having more movies in IMDB's Bottom 50 than any other studio...
"2 G's and a Key" - possibly the worst low budget movie ever made. It's so bad, it's almost enjoyable.
Any film which has a white stunt man painted black, to pass off as a stunt double for a black acter is truly legendary. Plus, the plot of the film is totally different to the synopsis on the back of the DVD.
This film is truly, truly dreadful, but I highly recommend it (as to see what not to do).
I was about to comment on this thread. But then I saw Howard the Duck mentioned here and ran out of the room crying. I don't like it when people fuck with the duck.
Not sure if I've contributed a title to this thread yet -- but I will add "Happy Go Lucky" -- as I watched this recently based on the Oscar buzz.
What a dreadful film, about a very annoying lady that goes around...well, annoying people, I guess. That seemed to be the only point. There is about 30 seconds of mildly interesting drama near the end, but the remainder just seemed like empty space.
Somebody can correct me if they enjoyed this film, but I think it is one more example of how out-of-touch the Oscars have become.

You're all a bunch of meanies.
Considering the name of the thread, it's surprsing to find so many high quality movies in it.
There's not enjoying something, but anything produced to a high quality has someinterest for me (editing, cinematography, effects etc).
a film is only a complete waste of time if everything in it is dire.
I do have to say that while I have seen plenty of films that I hated, even films that I would never, ever want to see again, I cannot think of anything that would meet the terms of this thread and would be considered two hours of my life wasted. I even watched Synecdoche, New York recently and while it certainly came close I could never consider anything a waste of time. If all you learn from a film is what a crap film looks like then it can hardly be a waste of time, you have still learned something
I am not trying to be a smart alec here, honestly. I chose not to add to this thread for that very reason, I think anyone who aspires to be a screenwriter should be able to watch even the worst movie ever made and still take something useful away from the experience.
To contribute a film to the thread, I'm going with... The French Connection.
I mean, considering this film won several Oscars, I really must have missed something. It was boring. Really, really boring. It had some moments that were kind of interesting, but Scary Movie 2 had moments that were kinda funny, but that didn't save it from the bottom of my barrel either.
It was like, stand around and wait for the whoever. Follow him. Wait some more. Do something that doesn't make sense. Wait some more. Cool chase scene. More boring stuff. Ending that doesn't make sense.
I really didn't understand how this film won as much as it did.

I watched it about three weeks ago myself. I wouldn't call it a waste of time, but I didn't particularly care for it. The driving instructor was the most interesting character.
This morning, Freddie Got Fingered was on cable. What the fuck was that about? Really? It was like Two Girls One Cup, but without the good acting and interesting story line.
