SPOILERS - DON'T WORRY THE ENDING ISN'T REVEALED.

I was expecting one of those standard slashers, with cliched characters, and poor dialogue, with a supposedly "twisted" ending. I was hesitant because seriously, what kind of slasher is rated PG-13? But, I saw it anyways. What the film was, was something original, refreshing, and had a seriously twisted and unexpected ending. This isn't a slasher, but a thriller, and a very good one at that.

7 high school students decide to play a game with the whole entire campus, by sending out emails that a serial killer is on campus. He has an orange ski mask, a camo jacket, and his weapon of choice is a very sharp hunting knife. He is "responsible" for the townie's death at the very beginning of the film and he will cause a student slaughter on the full moon, which falls on Halloween.

The buildup to the Halloween weekend is very suspenseful as mysterious situations begin to take place. My favorite was where Dodger and Owen are in the library with the censor ceiling lights. The movie takes at least half/hour to build, but it's filled with humorous moments and great character development.

Of course, the rumor grows and the murders begin(at the last 20 minutes). By the last ten minutes you think you've figured it out, who the killer is, but the screenplay is written so twisted, it throws you off. Even the last few seconds of the film a "big" secret is revealed. It's GREAT!

This film had many great moments; when they all admit to something they've done to each other, the parking lot scene, and of course the run-around through the campus with Owen as he "finds" his friends.

Won't tell you the actual ending, because it's excellent and what makes this film stand out, because no plothole was left un-filled. EVERYTHING IS EXPLAINED. It's fantastic.

It would be hard to walk away from this film disappointed. This was a pleasant surprise.

4/4

Lackluster... boring... preditcable... not scary... Stagnet acting at times and piss poor direction sums up my opinion on this one.

Their is a brilliant movie called, RED RIDING HOOD, filmed in ROME... check that one out. It takes the term "CRY WOLF" and really puts it to good use... It's a very shocking movie with a lot of head scratching moments in it.

As a modern telling of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, I thought it was brilliant... however, it wasn't American so that is to be expected. Anything horror and american will always ressult in an out of touch movie.

I think it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was yelling out in  a crowded movie theater at this. I thought it was so predictable for a while, and when the twist came it was stupid. All of the character were stupid, unrealistic, bland, and the things they did not make sense. Who the hell would continue pulling pranks after almost getting shot by a cop or pull a knife in class and get away with it, there were lik 15 other ppl who would have talked about it to a teacher.

I loved the colors and setting i love that new england fall look, but they did not use it properly. The film took forever to get going and when it tried to be scary it wasn't. I didnt care for one character and there was literally no character development.

My friend next to me who was stoned out of his mind even thought it was dumb.

This movie was not really 'trying' to be scary.

I had my hopes up when I see this movie. The pg-13 might be respected once and for all, since most reveiwers on Amazon.com are pissed at the other pg-13 horror flicks. This one might turn great since it is a different take on a slasher, not a ghost story. And it completley fails! This movie LIES to you, ala the tagline - it says: beLIEve. You will believe in the lies of this movie: the body count, the killer, and the instant messages! Like when you read a "non-fiction story" and to only found out it was FICTION! This movie made me so mad. The mask of the killer (alot of reveiwers on Imdb 'internet movie database' talked about this) is really...well it doesn't make the movie better. It is original, but that's the only factor that makes this movie great.

Fear Friday: some students will die to survive a twisted killer. Coming soon.

Original and this movie shouldn't go together. You were right about one thing... it lies to you, however, you also seem to think this is the only movie that has done this.

Go back about 20 years and watch "APRIL FOOLS DAY" you'll see more than a little theft going on in CRY WOLF, believe me.

The mask wasn't original, either... TOOLBOX MURDERS used the same thing. Long, long ago in a galaxy "hollywood" wants to make you think is far far away.

I'm sorry you were suckered. Live and learn, right?
