This is the craziest horror film I have ever seen. Period. Forget Hostel, Saw, and Wolf Creek,... Storm Warning is the ultamite hardcore horror film. Words can not describe just how fucked up this movie is. You will cringe. You will cheer. And you will laugh your ass off.
The plot is simple... When a storm forces a couple to land their sailboat fare ashore, they stumble upon a remote island inhabited by a demented father and his psychotic sons. Captured, beaten, and sexually enslaved, the couple turns the tables in a bloody fight for survival.
Now you may think this sounds like a ton of other horror movies that you've seen, but this movie is different. The victims in this movie are not machete fotter. they are smart. And their will to survive is brutal! I can't give away much with out spoiling the ending(although I will spoil the grossest scene in the movie in a few moments), but I will say that the crazy family gets more than they bargained for.
SPOILER
Now I'm going to spoil the craziest, most brutal scene I have ever seen in a movie. The woman, knowing that she is eventually going to be raped, sticks a tube up in herself. The metal lid to the tube has been ripped open, exposing the sharp, jagged edges. With the lid screwed on tight, she hides the tube inside of herself and awaits whatever the family is going to give her. It is the ver unlucky father who decides to have his way with her... and he gets stuck. Blood and screaming ensue. I cringed as I watched the father rip the jagged lid from his junk! It was fucked up!
END SPOILER
Overall, I loved this film. It is one of my favorite horror films and is destined to be a cult classic. Buy it now!
The basic plot sounds like Richard Laymon's "Island", was this based on that book? Laymon sure as hell wrote some gruesome B movie-type horror novels, although Island didn't have the nasty surprise you mentioned.
13 feature scripts, 2 short subjects. One sale, 4 options. Nothing filmed. Damn.
Currently rewriting another writer's SciFi script for an indie producer in L.A.
This was a well done little Aussie movie. It's one of the few that actually succeeds in what it sets out to do, and credit should be given to Jamie Blanks (Urban Legend and Valentine) who did a great job directing this. Lots of great shots, including the use of lots of aerial shots, which I hear is something he loves to employ.
Brutal, shocking, great FX, and a beleivable plot and story. Great characters as well.
