Just had an interesting experience -  well, not that special but. I had an idea last night at work, for a script, a war one about the the German fighter ace, Manfred Von Richthofen, I read up on him when I was a kid and thought his story could be updated for today's audiences. I imagined gritty war violence, a fictional love interest, etc.
Googled him before and noticed a movie trailer! Last year, a mainly German produced film came out, called The Red Baron( funny that...) or Der Rote Baron in German. It had Lena Headey from 300 and Sarah Connor Chronicles, as,get this, THE FICTONAL LOVE INTEREST! The Baron was played by a German actor who was also in Valkyrie. Joseph Fiennes is in it too. Anyway, the trailer was pretty good, with CGI dogfights and action.
When released, the movie was panned for a few historical inaccuracies. The real Baron was a very reserved and unemotional man, reluctant to be classed a hero. I dunno, maybe I can still try a different type of script. Cheers guys.
