Possible spoilers within.

I loved the first Smokin' Aces and saw the sequel which automatically peaked my interest and even though it is not directed by the same guy, he is a big part of the films production.

Walter Weed is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him.

Stupid character name but he's played by Tom Berenger and is probably the best overall acting performance in this flick.

The FBI agent who is to play opposite him on the other hand has the acting skill of a wet bag... where they found this kid to be a leading man in a film is beyond me.

This is apparently a prequel so rather random characters from the other film return like Lazlo Soot, lester Tremor and Malcolm Little but they aren't as fun as they were in the last film.

Acting brings this one down for me.

I know people will say "Why are you watching for acting in THIS type of film?" and the simple answer is "Because that's what they intended for this to be with all the dramatic beats over deaths."

The battles involving the assassins were pretty cool and bring the score up to about average.

The Blu Ray features a good chunk of features including a Daily Video Diary, Gag Reel and a commentary which as an overall package offers a good time even if the film didn't live up to its predecessor.
