Hey,
Not sure who has seen this, but from my end its the epitome of awkward, amazing comedy.

The show just expanded to a half hour on Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network, stars Jon Glaser, a former writer from the Conan O'Brien show. He plays a self righteous a-hole that wears a ski mask 24/7, who is in the witness protection program for witnessing a mob murder..plus he has a voice modulator that makes everything he says either sound creepy or awkwardly funny.

He's the type of guy that frequently takes his girlfriend to the "bone zone" or the "meat suite" to satisfy his urges.

Anyone else seen the show? Or is it one of those great shows that fades away without anyone noticing?

I've seen it, and passed it on. Nothing funny about that show that I could find, but that's just my opinion. Adult Swim has better things to show. BRING BACK SHIN CHAN, DAMMIT!

Probably kicking a dead horse in the face here, but someone else has to have seen this show.

My big takeaway is that the main character does something unique here. He's a complete and utter a-hole, with no apologies about it. It may be the only show beside Eastbound and Down on HBO that has the show that has the protagonist being such a d-bag, and it still works.

My main interest boils down to a script I'm working on that pushes these limits, "How unlikeable can your main character be and still have the viewer root for him?" How far can a writer push the audience and still have them get behind the character, without the obvious "save the cat" scene of him performing a Godlike action that desperately tries to make the reader/viewer get on the characters side...which is usually out of character.

The only exemption to this that comes to mind is Walter White in season one of Breaking Bad where he spots a couple of high school kids making fun of his disabled son in a clothing store. The then mild mannered teacher confronts them and from that moment on I was 100% behind Walter, now matter how awful his future actions were.

I think I've found a couple of ways to make the audience identify and relate to the character, but don't want to push it too far..even though I'm tempted.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen any other movie/tv show that has such an unlikeable protagonist. Forget all those crappy pg 13 Ben Stiller flicks (Along Came Polly, or the Meet the Parents sequels...and no unlike Ray W., I won't provide the IMDB links and make you do the homework...I'll let you think it out on your own.
