Wow, was this ever a terrible film. I'm actually shocked how bad it really was.
Other than the good production values, this brought absolutely nothing to the table. How and why Gary Oldman got involved is a head scratcher...and he wasn't even intro'd until 50% of the film had crawled along.
Oh yeah, the lead actress is a total babe, so at least watching her was enjoyable.
You know, this type of film just really pisses me off. I don't understand why anyone would be interested in such a dull cliche ridden mess, nor do i understand how it could have made so much money at the box office.
It's the kind of script where pretty much zero thought was involved and no one seemed to even care that so little made sense or is even remotely possible, within the world it created. Don't even get me started...

Heck, I had zero interest in this film from the moment I first heard of it - but after seeing that arse, I mean that poster in the multiplex, my girlfriend had to literally drag me away from the box office.
I saw the film, and yeah, wow, that girl is nice to watch!
And the movie is a wreck. But I disagree on one thing. I think there actually was an effort to pull off a sophisticated story. They just didn't pull it off. I wonder if the original script got butchered, partly so they could show more of the girl. I don't know. I just suspect there was a good idea there somewhere, and it either got destroyed by the process, or it just never came together.
JB, you're completely correct with that poster. I guess I would have walked into the movie if I'd seen that ass.
OK, so help me out here then with some plot points...I admittedly was dozing in and out of consciousness, cause it was just so dull, IMO.
The babe and her friend were supposedly college students, right? Where did they live and did they resemble college students at all in their daily lives, actions, or anything for that matter?
What brought this on all of a sudden? I mean, why did this unborn whatever it was supposed to be suddenly start terrorizing people?
I actually only saw glances of the movie while doing something else. I think I only left it on tv cause of the girl.
From what I gathered there was an ancient demon connected to Jewish mysticism that was trying to gain entry to the world. It either did so or almost did so in Auschwitz during WW2, and this was linked to the girls grandmother, who was a child who had been experimented on there. There may have been an unborn twin involved, I forget. the spirit of an unborn twin.
Like I said, I didn't see the whole thing. But Gary Oldman's dialogue suggested an attempt at complicated plot, but it came off awful.
I do remember seeing a commercial for this movie when it was in the theaters, and it looked pretty decent. It turned out to be another movie where the trailer is much better than the movie. I am sure people also assumed that with Gary Oldman in it, it would be decent.
Hate to say it, but a trailer with some cool scenes(the possessed contorting and walking outside the door), and a respected actor is enough to bring people in sometimes.
Why did GO do this? I did read where he may have owed the director. Or that he is doing another movie in the near future with the director, and this was a package deal.
