Not right at all...

Damn, this movie is abysmal...absolutely abysmal!  Probably one of the worst "big" budget" flicks I've seen in a long time.

Well, at $37 Million, it's not actually a big budget film, but that ain't peanuts either.  It pulled in $33 Million here and another $63 Million overseas, so it somehow, shockingly, was successful.  An that's rally a shame, cause it sure doesn't deserve to be.

It's really a complete sham.  False advertising, and using Anthony Hopkins' name and talent to sell a piece of crap.

This turd is 114 minutes long, but I highly doubt, other than the last 20 minutes, there's more than 3 minutes of horror or anything remotely interesting taking place.  It is shockingly dull and slow.  Scenes are so slow and dull.  Characters are a downright bore.  It really blows and upsets me, cause it looked so good, based on the trailers, which again, were not depicting the true nature of the movie.

This really isn't a horror movie.  There are several scenes, inclduing the finale, which can be classified as scary, but that's because exorcism is scary.  Anthony Hopkins looking and acting like he's possessed is scary.  The rest is pure garbage.

It also upsets me that this would get made and released with a PG 13 rating.  This is not the kind of movie any kid would want to see or should see.  The subject matter alone is not PG 13 material.  The story is definitely not anything anyone under 20 would be remotely interested in, IMO.  Again, it's just complete deception by the studio, to try and draw in a younger crowd by using Anthony Hopkins and making this out to be a freaky, creepy horror movie, where Hopkins gets to go all out bonkers, much like his Hannibal character (and yes, at times near the end, he seemed to be channeling Dr. Lecter.

Enter at your own risk.  This thing makes watching traffic seem like a trip to Disney Land.  Utter crap!

I have to agree with you Dreamscale. This movie had some serious flat spots and was totally devoid of horror, or even entertainment value. I think the biggest draw undoubtly was Hopkins. Yes, he was solid and did as much as he could in the constraints of the role he had. I feel sorry for Colin O'Donoghue if this was to be his springboard to acting greatness. He wasn't bad, but he'll be remembered for all the wrong reasons for being in this. It reminded me of The Sin Eater, in that I was waiting for something to happen and at the end I went, 'that's it?'.
