I enjoyed this film.   Kinda dragged in a few places, but other than that I found it to be an excellent example of good storytelling/filmmaking.  The last sixty seconds are powerful.

Oh, wow. Another great movie ruined by a terrible ending.

People thought too hard into it, looking for an explanation, when actually, there was none. The ending was meaningless. It just happened, cause it could. Rage!!!

But Michael Shannon pulled off an amazing performance here. Some solid acting by the whole cast.

I enjoyed Michael Shannon's performance lots.
And this one dovetails into a discussion about the Is It or Isn't It factor.

Blade Runner's ending had it.
Inception commercialized the heck out of it with a spinning top.
And we get the indie slice of that here with Shannon's character.

Is it the real deal or just in Shannon's head.
Another good film to debate and ponder.
And given his mental state, does it really make a difference?

Saw it last night.

Woah.

Very impressed by this one. Equally impressed by Michael Shannon. Great, great performance. Loved the ending, too - not that you couldn't see it coming.

All in all it was a pleasently surprising experience - even more surprising considering it was produced by The Brothers Trainwreck - I mean, The Brothers Strause.

saw it and really enjoyed it. it did drag a bit here and there, but michael shannon gave his best performance to date.

seems like there's a little confusion regarding the ending. personally, i thought it was clear cut, but i could be wrong.

SPOILERS

IMHO, the storm at the end was definitely real. you could tell by his wife's face and his daughter signing the word "storm."

did i miss something?

It's all up to interpretation of course but I saw it the same way you did, 'Bino.
