I remember thinking this looked quite interesting when I saw trailers last year.  It seemed to be quite interesting when it began, as well.

I think I was actually liking it for awhile.  I know I wanted to.  I tried...and failed miserably.

Wow...what a waste of a great idea and premise.  There are so many glaring issues on display here.  So many things obviously shoehorned in to make this fit into that old proverbial box.

But, at its heart, it's just downright silly.  It really is.  So many senseless, ridiculous things going on. I actually got a headache from rolling my eyes so many times in an hour and 55 minutes.  I'm not even going to go into the multitude of head scratchers.

But, I will say a few things.  When the entire basis of your movie is that every single character in your movie is no older than 25, wouldn't you think that maybe...just maybe, you outta cast talent that's...well no older than 25?  Johny Gallecki isn't a major, major character here, but the dude was 36 when this was filmed.  Cilian Murphy is a major character here and the second he was intro'd, I couldn't help but laugh, as he was 35 when filming - the obvious died black hair didn't quite convince me he was 25.  And finally, our lead here, the ultra thespian, Justin Timberlake, was 30.  Just so stupid.

Justin has good screen presence. I'll give him that.  But the guy is not an actor and it shows here in every scene he actually has to act.

$40 Million budget.  $37 Million NABO.  Somehow, this thing was a huge hit overseas and came in at a shocking $174 Million WWBO.  Damn...there must be a bunch of real knuckleheads over there.     Kidding...just kidding!

Anyway, a big disappointment for me.  Great concept, but so poorly realized and executed.  Corny, cliche laden, completely unrealistic (even within the world created), leading to a oh so obvious finale, but do we really care by that point?  I didn't.

What good are choices if they're all bad?

I liked Cillian Murphy's performance and the general idea but I agree. The movie was definitely a mis-fire.

That sums this movie up in a nutshell. I remember liking the opening when they set-up the world. I mean every character has a clock counting down on their arm telling how much time they’ve got to live, what more motivation do you need.

It all started to fall apart after that first act which is a shame because this could have been so much better. The cool idea deserved better.
