* Spoilers*

Well, finally saw MIB 3 tonight.  Was a HUGE fan of the first one, so was curious if this one was decent.

It was entertaining, better than MIB 2 and worth my time - though I really feel it missed the mark with the final twist:

Some small things: GREAT alien bad guy.  Memorable. An interesting character with neat FX.  (Though I don't understand why his throat never opened.  The makeup was implying that it would, at some point.) Some of the humorous lines - also pretty good.  (Fish-slap.  Heh.)  Griffin's also a great quirky character.  They could've dug a *little* deeper on the racial/cultural differences  between 2012 and 1969.  Especially with the scene with Jay's Dad - who seemed to have been promoted pretty high in NASA, given the time period...

But...they really missed the chance for a great ending.  The whole mystery - of course - was what soured K on life and turned him into a joyless grump.  Yes, they had J's dad killed during the showdown...  But honestly, why would that have *turned* K?  He didn't even know the man.

What they *should* have done, IMHO, was have K think that J was killed protecting him.  Watching your friend and partner get murdered...now that's a legitimate reason for a man to sour on life.  And they made such a point that K and J had to steer clear of the rocket before it took off.  Why not have J seem to be incinerated in the blast in the last moment, when really he just jumped back to his time?  No reason that couldn't have been paired with the death of J's dad in a double whammy.  THEN - when J returns home...end with a great emotional scene with a relieved K!

*Sigh*  Decent movie.  But it coulda been better!!    Darn it...
