I was big fan of the movie Zombieland, starring Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Jessie Eisenberg.  It was a well-thought out zombie movie with a lot of humor and some dramatic moments.  I always thought that a sequel would be right around the corner at it did pretty well in the box office.

Amazon has licensed Zombieland and is producing it's own television series.  The pilot can be watched for free.

I'm not happy with this show.  While it tries to be loyal to the movie, including the rules for survival, it's just not interesting.  The characters are paler renditions of their movie counterparts and there's no chemistry between them.

An addition to the cast (which confuses the hell out of me) is the voice from On-Star.  With the press of a button, there is a fifth unseen character who provides information  to the party as well as a bit of occasional motherly advise.

Maybe Amazon just needs to iron out the rough edges for its series.  Hopefully, they can do this before they start charging to view it.

I checked out the trailer for this.
I couldn't get any indication on how they expanded upon the movie premise.

Just seemed like the movie padded for television.
And with a bunch of talent I don't recognize.

I prefer Netflix's throw money at brand name approach.

$100 million to Fincher for House of Games. No studio interference. Boom.
You want Arrested Development back? They got the new comedian-studded season.

And I hope NetFlox saves Futurama next.
Cuz Amazon's too cheap for them.

The original movie left it open so sequels (or series) could be made.  This isn't like making a TV series based on Titanic.  With this, the four characters will simply go around, crack jokes and kill zombies.

I'm looking forward to Arrested Development as I was a big fan of the original series.

I hear you, Phil.
And thanks for the wee brews!
Glad my Skype ramblings were of some use to you.

I was just hoping for a HINT of plot in the trailer.
Something to tell me this is a TV worthy narrative.
They don;t have to go all AMC on it.

Lemme put it this way... If I just saw that random trailer...
I would just assume it's a grade Z Asylum Pictures style knock off.

And I don't say that in a particularly flattering way.

Regards,
E.D.

The show is low budget and the production values were fairly basic.  The pilot's story was the group trying to find other survivors.  Each time they found someone... hilarity ensued (not really).

I can see what you mean about the Asylum knockoff.

Well, that was brief.

http://www.slashfilm.com/tv-bi.....d-mike-judge-the-cw/

Zombieland the series is dead. Not living. Not re-animated. Not anything.
Not a big shocker due to the quality *and* the Amazon  > business model for this and other series. I'll bring up the other noteworthy bit of info the article mentions in connection to Amazon and another series in another thread.

But for now R.I.P Zombieland series.
As if you really had a chance.
