Will try and keep it short. Like a Malick film but with booze, tits, cocaine and college girls. Amazing performance from James Franco, solid throughout the film. A strange little flick, some parts were amazingly filmed while others just made you cringe. The first half hour was implemented poorly considering the tone of the story later on.
My biggest gripe has to be with the four girls, never have I seen worse protagonists in any film, wow, if it wasn't for Franco's character, this would've stunk so badly.
Directing was nice, definitely not was I was expecting, especially the way the film was marketed.
A little kudos goes out to Skrillex for the score, although it was nothing amazing, it wasn't all too bad.
I'm a little surprised at some of the reviews though, there was a lot of fun to be had here.
I'm in love with this movie. One of my favorites this year. The story wasn't anything original. But it was fun and gritty and rebellious. I didn't love the four girls, but I liked them. And Franco was epic.
The soundtrack is the ultimate crazy summer soundtrack.
Everything else aside, what made me fall in love with this movie was how amazing it looked from start to finish. All the colours and the entire look of the movie was awesome. I cannot fault how it looked and the epic cinematography.
Also, one of my fav quotes: "LOOK AT ALL MA SHIT!", haha.

Anyway, it's been a while since it came out and I'm pretty stoked as to how much the film's caught on. There've been a handful of really dark, daring, experimental films that have come out in 2013 but this has been the only one that really seems to have had some legit success. As much as I would've liked the others to have had the same success, I think it's still really cool. Just goes to so you can make something well off the beaten path and still have it resonate with a mass audience. I also think Korine really hit his stride with this one as well and hope it'll garner him some more opportunities.
