Good on you! I've worked on small things in Oz but nothing big like this. Must have been a real education, not to mention exciting.

Small 'danglers' Lib?  That's Sydney for you, I guess...

Yeah, it had a small run. It outperformed its budget equivalents to a point by getting a release. Completely agree with you re: giving British talent more of a leg up. At the minute we're seeing the big studio stuff dominated by Hollywood money, and then you have the likes of BBC Film / Film Four / Working Title cornering the domestic market and closing shop with a clique of connected bodies getting first refusal and the spend.

It makes it very hard for those on the outside to get films financed and for there to be the budget for production, let alone a spend for getting the word out there. There's a huge gap in the market right now to my eyes, though. Whilst there's a ton of low budget stuff being made, there's nobody coming up with the high concept / low budget delivery of Blumhouse. Many might not like their films, but they're delivering high production values with known names on miniscule budgets whilst delivering huge box office returns. The talent is here in the UK to operate outside the status quo to that template. A lot of that rests on securing the backing of distributors like eOne.

Cripes, Andrew!  That's terrific... production assistant on Guardians!  Congratulations - here's to getting on several more.  Both the big budget and the indies that deserve to get the opportunities as well.  Major kudos - looks like you're moving along nicely.

Cheers,

-Janet (W)

Obviously I meant 'danglers' as in: Dangling Participles.
You and Dustin obviously have filthy minds.

I still don't know if Andrew was the furry one or not.

I doubt Stevie meant those type of danglers. I've heard there are loads of them in Sydney. They're as camp as Christmas around those parts. Not that there's anything wrong with that type of thing.

Maybe Andrew was Groot! Lol

Funny name that...Groot.   Here in Oz it's short for Good Root.

(That was just asking to be done, ay Lib?).  Gotta love us Aussies.  Just not all at once, is all.

Sorry, I'm rambling at 633 am. Time to hang the washing up and have another coffee

Yep, saw your name up there on the big screen, Mr. Allen!

Gunn does not disappoint. Cheerfully slight but utterly fantastic. Funny as hell, too. "Why would I put my finger on his neck?" killed me.

^^ Yeah, I was surprised at how much this made me laugh!

The bit with John C Reilly replying to Drax's "but what if I pulled out his spine" comment made me laugh the hardest I have laughed in the cinema in a long time

The kids loved Quill doing the rude finger machine (that was their fave in the trailer). I read on imdb that Chris Pratt improvised that bit in filming lol.

Maybe he was looking at Andrew on the set and threw it in!
