What good are choices if they're all bad?

Hey, Blond. Keep in mind, that scene I posted loses its format in the process of cutting from PDF and pasting. To see how it looks on the script, it's on this site, page 11. I don't post it as the model for great writing. I post as standard run of the mill regular quality professional writing. I can read that scene quickly and without confusion, I can see the images so that I know how it will play out, and I can FEEL the stress of the spotlighted character, the little boy. Isn't that the essence of good screenwriting?

Oh, I get that, believe me. The problem is simply that I hate that kind of detailed writing style. That's probably why I only enjoy reading shooting scripts and really never like reading spec scripts. Something about the bare-bones essentials of prose and just reading straight dialogue appeals to me much more.

There are some writers that I enjoy reading just for their writing style. Like Matias for example. But, most of the time I don't really pay attention to how a script is written. If the story is good, I just read for the enjoyment.

I noticed Darren posten in The Passenger thread and he mentioned the things he didn't like about the film. I have not seen the movie, but I read the script. The whole thing, because it kept my attention and I wanted to know what would happen next. IMHO, it was a great read. There were a few things that I noticed that I would not have done as far as the writing went, but I honestly didn't care. And that, IMO, is what this is all about. Write a script that people want to read til the end without being paid or as a favor. As we all know though, that's HARD!

And by the looks of this post, I need to go work on my grammar!
