Although released overseas in 2016, this was a 2017 release here in the states.

Did you miss it somehow, like me?  A $150 Million Matt Damon action/fantasy/adventure, with mostly Chinese stars, shot mostly in China, from renowned Chinese Director Zhang Yimou, this just may be 1 of the very worst films you'll ever see.

Just literally laugh out loud redonkulous again and again, cringe worthy dialogue from Tony Gilroy, Doug Miro, and Carlo Bernard, based on an absolutely pitiful/laughable/dumbass story by Max Brooks, Edward Zwick, and Marshall Herskovitz.

I'm just in shock how terrible this really was.  Even if you take out the mythical creatures, who seem to number in the millions, factually, this is like a teenager threw together some ideas and the powers that be decided to invest $150 Million, hoping that it wold be an international hit just on the action alone.

Dialogue is simply put, laugh out loud terrible.  Damon's character speaks in several different accents and the gorgeous Tian Jing, who is Chinese and has never supposedly left the Great Wall, speaks fluent English.  And don't even get me started on Willem Dafoe's character.

Just shockingly awful and dumb on so many levels.

Grade - F - BUT, I think it actually qualifies as one of those so terrible movies that it is actually entertaining, in an amusing way.  I laughed out loud at least 30 times, and I can't usually say that about comedies, so maybe they just missed by not calling this a comedy.

Watched it 6 months ago. Can't remember a single scene. Either i was super high or your review is correct and it was so bad I've blanked it out. Or both.

I tried to watch it on a recent flight and couldn't get past 20 minutes. Unbelievable how bad it was.

I didn't think it was THAT bad.

However, it was definitely bad.
