I've been eagerly anticipating this and it was impressive.

Lots of questions but you expect that after only one episode.

Just a lot to like here.

What did people think?

As a huge fan of Watchmen (original book and movie - I'm not one of 'those' fans) and Before Watchmen (highly recommend if you haven't read that series), I think HBO is going to produce an outstanding future version (actually present day timeline). The single episode provides more questions than answers for the series direction but I'm hooked. The trailers elude to Dr. Manhattan's return...we'll see.

****SPOILER ALERT****

Very impressed with the cast so far though I can't believe Don Johnson had a one episode appearance! Holy crap, I thought he was stellar as the Chief of Police and am sorry to see him go.

Loved the little details like the police using a version of Night Owl's ship and the copy of 'Under the Hood' on the Chief's desk. I'm sure there are a ton of Easter eggs missed.

What does one of 'those fans mean?

It more than eluded to his return, it literally showed his hand he's definitely going to be in there.

Many fans of the original Alan Moore graphic novel were up in arms with Zack Snyder's 2009 production and the changed ending. I think Snyder did a fantastic job of visualizing the novel and didn't have any issues with his artistic license. Many of the filmed scenes were almost exact duplicates of panels from the book. Pretty amazing work.

I'm cautious with HBO bait n' switch trailer tactics. I wouldn't put it by them to have that hand being misleading somehow. We'll see....

Agreed, I had no issues with the film, I also think replicating panels is a great nod to the novel, I personally loved it.

If they’ve deceived me with that blue hand there will definitely be an angry letter written!

I also think Jeremy Irons as Veidt is casting genius. He just has that commanding presence.

Damn this show is good. Ep 3 was so laden with fan service it's not funny, loved it.

And the score is next level. They really put together a top class show.

Get on it if you haven't already.
