Again, flipping through the endless options available on Netflix, I came across a little 16-minute horror short, 'The Blue Drum'. I'm curious if anyone has watched it (quality production and acting) and what you thought of it. Not necessarily as a film, but the fact that it's on Netflix. The story and writing are something I wouldn't be surprised to see on Simply Scripts. There's hope for us all if Netflix starts offering more shorts in its catalog.

I'm presently house sitting, so got the chance to view last night on the biggest TV I've ever seen, complete with arrays of sub woofers. This set up may have been impressive but I was underwhelmed with the movie.
I've watched and read upon SS projects that were way better!
My bug bears - the inane dialogue with no foreshadow that mum had been dead for years?? before father passed.
- the great number of soundFX (I suppose sub sonic drum dragging resonances) impossible to hear on a normal TV which the Audio description listed as "scratching" or "footsteps"
- the singular clue left by the mother - I will never leave you. The scene is about getting rid of the father's stuff
- that thin slender letter opener that prizes open the secret compartment to reveal ^^
- the 'boyfriend' only there to help move and tip the blue drum

So much more could have been made of those 16 minutes . . . .

I also watched 30 mins of Black Mirror. I'd imagined that to be a psychological futuristic thriller - NOT an F-bomb filled mash up of Tron Vs Star Trek in a Galaxy Quest wrapper!!
