Yes, Niles, I did have issues with it, mainly because it didn't try to meet the challenge IMO.  It was very, very dark and mature, and in no way was suitable for kids, nor would kids be interested in it, because it didn't deal with anything kiddish (how's that for a word?).

We've gone back and forth about the Festival thing, but I just don't think a few of you understand my point, even.  A Festival is defintely an event.  It has nothing to do with celebrating a Holiday or theme.  It is something people go to.

You've more than made that point in quite a few threads now.  People understand it, they just don't agree with it.

I understand that, Michael.  I just feel like it's trying to convince someone why (5 + 5) / (10-5) = 2.

This picture cracks me up.

Don, did you let your kid read all the scripts or did you have to weed out any?

Or why being out in the rain is a INT. shot.

Oh Jeff, I understand your point perfectly.

You have made very eloquent arguments in support of your case.

I just don't happen to agree with you!

Funny, Rob!  Very funny.  No, the INT/EXT thing is agreeably arguable.  The Festival isn't, IMO.

Niles, I hear ya, dude. I really do.  I just, for the life of me, can't figure out what it is you guys disagree with, though.  No biggie.

Ah...hmmmm.  If I may jump in.

Festival (disambiguation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A festival is a celebratory event, usually centered on a theme.
A festival is an event, usually and ordinarily staged by a local community, which centers on some unique aspect of that community.

I never understand why in these contests there is often such discord over little things like this, when by definition, they are so simple.

Whatever we write - I would hope it is our goal to utilize the guidelines of the challenge to the best of our ability.  Otherwise...what is the point of a challenge or even entering it in the first place.

I know...this, coming from someone who has a difficult time writing horror as it relates to family

I love words and the fact that when the page is blank...there's nothing there until words are formulated in my brain. Those thoughts...rushing through my viens and out my finger tips, find "life" on the page.

When people and places come to life...that to me is exciting.

Got no real guesses, except that this has been fun with some good entries, from ghosts, aliens, murderous kangaroos and a not quite enough zombies...(I may have missed some zombicidal action; if I did, please let me know.)

Not much to say about my little project here, other than Dream was entirely correct.  I did rush, I did entirely run too long and as a result over-edited. However, at 14 pages with the "Tightest Possible" setting on Final Draft, had to slice and dice like John Belushi in the Samurai Delicatessen...

Wolf, are you refering to me, with "Dream"?  Hmmm...I'm not sure which script you're referring to.

One thing I will throw out here, relating to my script as well as others, based on the page constraint, and the fact that I too was running way long, I took out the "FADE IN" and "FADE OUT" to save myself at least 4 lines.  Damn...I needed 'em!  In a challenge like this, it's one thing I'd never hold against a script, and would recommend not including them, if space is an issue.

Wolf!  C'mon, out yourslef!  Quit holding back!!!!!

Yeah, I had to do that too, to fit in 12 pages. No 'The End' either!

Excellent clue!  It almost passed me by, and as I was about to hit "send", it dawned on me.  Well done.

I'll post on your thread once you've offically outed yourself (I did like this one, BTW!).
